My first thought was, if business is booming, why not expand the business?
"Yeah, we are booked solid with work, so we are going to cut back on our service and not hire additional help to handle the volume." - said no one ever.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Murphy definitely belongs in there (thanks for the suggestion JP). Any suggestions you have to improve the content or write up, I am definitely open to it. As stated previously, I plan on doing a contest periodically to help facilitate discussion.
I think a HOF hot...
FCB Hot List 10-23-15
Author: Tyler Short
Much to the delight of cardboard collectors everywhere, the official FCB Hot List is back! Starting today, we will continue the series on a bi-weekly basis. The goal of the Hot List is to be an accurate representation of the 8 (at least) hottest...
Syndergaard stuff is trending up. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that you could get $300 for it. Any offer north of $250 I would automatically accept. $200 to me is a soft offer given that this card is ready to increase exponentially depending on his performance in the WS (assuming...

This is an interesting concept. Price point seems a little steep, but depending on how Correa's career progresses, I could see these being solid investments. I know BGS slabs magazines. I wonder if they would be able to slab...
Very true. Hopefully Topps doesn't resort to this.
I'm hoping that Topps holds back everyone I'm chasing from the 2015 class for 2016 Bowman. I don't like 2015 or 2016 designs compared to the older designs (2005, 2006, 2008), but 2015 is so hard to grade. 2016 looks to be easier to slab.
Looks like that guarantees Alex Bregman won't be in Bowman Draft as a prospect auto.
I like seeing Chipper autos. Still, Topps needs to release another buyback Bowman auto set. Similar to 2006 Bowman Originals.
Jeff, if I send out tomorrow to ensure delivery by monday the 19th, will I be able to jump in on a BGS submission and or PSA? If your booked, where I have to wait until November, I'll send myself using the BGS monthly promo, but if I know that I'll have my cards sent out on the 22nd, I'll jump...
Long long long PM just sent to Phillyfan, hopefully some of my ideas are passed onto the rest of the moderators.
I am glad that a discussion like this is taking place, publicly, and opinions are being requested. This place is far from dead. The contributors that created this place are still...
This is awesome.
I purchased a 1986 Fleer Jordan rookie last December as a Christmas present to me. He had pictures of the card in a PSA 8 case, but he thought it was better than a PSA, so he crossed over to BGS. BGS rejected it as a suspected trimmed copy. I picked it up for $400 + $50 eBay...
Unfortunately, I think the only way to do that is to open it up to more people. The two we have are the best, but they only have so much time and resources. Opening it up certainly increases risk to members, but I'm sure this community has someone with plenty of references that would like to get...
This was going to be my suggestion.
I can't think of an example, but I think that serial sets or, sets that are only created once a player enters into the club (Upper Deck 500 HR club, Upper Deck 3000 hit club) will always be iconic and collectible. The problem is, Upper Deck no longer exists...
Sorry this is long.
I really do think it comes down to having an active moderator crew. I honestly had no idea that gilmore stepped aside. I wish that weren't the case. I believe the board benefits more when the site owner is more active in the community. The last interaction I had with him...
