I don't think they will go that far. I was just pretty shocked when I heard about it, obviously thinking Panini had grabbed the reins. Not a usual occurrence for what amounts to a sports apparel store to obtain the licensing they did.- predatorkj

Is this really the current state of the "hobby" card shop?
I haven't purchased a box or a pack in quite a while. I was going to start a thread here and had second thoughts. Since it's kind of already related, why exactly did people start hoarding/scalping blasters? I know it started during the pandemic. I'm well aware of what happened with pokemon, etc...- predatorkj

So, if I understand correctly, the real meat of the issue was, if they did a consignment, they had no real way of knowing that the items were being bid up by whomever consigned it. But, this looks more like they, themselves, got busted doing it. At least I believe that to be the case as only...- predatorkj

PWCC shut down on eBay...
IRC, there were quite a few members here (originally) who indicated that the reason their (PWCC) sales routinely went above market price was that they had a "dedicated roster of buyers" who soley dealt with PWCC and would, often, overspend just because it was PWCC and that's whom they dealt with...- predatorkj

Don't have pics but I loved Ball Four(Bouton) and The Bronx is Burning. I really liked the Bronx is Burning because it gives you a historical take on things in New York at that time from the mayoral race to the Son of Sam stuff to the blackout etc. Really went beyond baseball which was cool to...- predatorkj

I agree. Was debating selling my autographed copy. But I was only able to get Springer on a ball and this SI as he didn't do too many free signings so I decided against it. Of course, had I sold it, I could see with my luck, I'd never find one at a reasonable price again.;)- predatorkj

What a heck of a series! Been so busy lately it's work, come home and watch while eating dinner, go to sleep, repeat. But I'm very happy and was glad to see my Astros finally win it all. Now I can at least feel a tiny bit better about '05.- predatorkj

Are you a bigger fan than me?
Casual fans don't bother me but they can be hard to have a decent conversation with about the team at times. But I don't think that makes them any less valuable to the team. I am not fond of those commercials either.- predatorkj
