Just thought i'd throw this out their to get some opinions.

what do you consider a 1/1, is it a card that is #d 1/1
or
a card that is #d to the players uniform #, 1/5, 1/10, 100/100, 125/125, and soforth.

A card #'d 1/1 is a 1/1 and sometimes a card #'d 1/1 is not even a 1/1.

If you go by the logic that a card #'d 001/100 is a 1/1 then one could say a card #'d 002/100 is a 1/1 since it's the only card #'d 002/100 in the set.

1/1's are played out and overrated.

Any card designated by the manufacturer as having a print run of 1.

There are degrees of desirability in 1/1's though. When manufacturers issue over 10 1/1's of a player by just changing a background color and not the card design, those are less desirable than when a player has only one 1/1 "masterpiece" in a product. Print plates, which I see as 1/1's, are less desirable than regular card 1/1's in most cases.

Only if it says 1/1 on the card

I would also consider a card a 1 of 1 based on graded propulation. If a guy only has one Gold Refractor graded BGS 10. I would consider that card a 1 of 1 as well.

The people that shared this belief, and bought/buy the 1/1 graded slab in a population report are often met with another of the same or higher grade within a year.

Population reports change, serial-numbering does not.

Grading alone simply cannot/does not create a 1/1.
