That sounds about right - I have to update my old spreadsheet as I don't collect certain cards (don't count anything that pictures him with other players, and have been ignoring the Archives buyback autographs), so I expect my total might be closer to 2,000. And who knows how many of those are...
I remember hoping to join this club one day when this thread was made back in the day - little did I know Brandon Webb would never pitch again, which obviously cratered production of his cards after 2009/2010. I think he has somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 cards, so can't imagine a situation I...
My general rule is no to Signature Archives, with the exception for me being, as others have mentioned, more obscure players in D-backs uniforms who have no other certified autographs. Have picked up Orlando/Livan Hernandez cards this way.
Otherwise, not even interested in the glut of Brandon...
1. Complete my Diamondbacks collection website (mid/higher-end stuff)
2. Begin work on my D-backs base card project website - I am attempting to catalogue all D-backs base ever created, and seeing how deep I can get into completing the full run from 1998-present. Can't imagine I'll ever actually...
A rare (both the card itself and finding anything new for my collection) Brandon Webb pickup - up to 1,079 unique and around 78% of his rookie year print run.
I said I was going to stop spending money but I made some mistakes. But two huge must haves off my want list of the last 20 years - a Luis Gonzalez Logoman, and a White Framed X-Fractor.
And figured if I was going to pursue the complete Topps Black team sets, may as well get the big $$$ one out...
That's awesome! I can relate as someone who still actively collects a player from around the same era. Even if you can only find a handful of pickups a year, the thrill is still the same.
Thanks! I wish they had kept the hand numbering on the front rather than the back but whatcha gonna do.
A few more random pickups of non-current players now that I have a working scanner again.
A couple higher-end relics:
The Peralta completes his rookie year Superfractors (there were only...
I was going to take it a bit slower as the summer started, but darn it if this isn't the most exciting D-backs team in years and I've been swept up.
A few current player pickups recently:
Nah there is, just hadn't gotten around to scanning it and was too excited to wait haha. In fact I think I saw quite a few complaints over on Blowout about how prevalent he was in this product.
Still loving 2022 Sapphire - definitely picking up all I can/would at least like to complete the team Gold rainbow...anything more is probably too ambitious.
Not usually big on prospects and paying $ for unproven players, but was a blast watching the young guys last year so why not.
Finally got around to scanning March pickups. Still a few to go, but progress!
First 2023 cards in:
Working on the 2022 Finest Rainbow...kind of, too many parallels to really care but if I seem them cheap, I grab them.
Some random ex-player autographs - Finley is /12
Love the Sapphire stuff, always on the lookout for more
Don't see a lot of bat knobs out there, but I actually already have a different parallel from this set - but the knob with the number on it was much cooler than my other one
And my absolute favorite pickup in a long time from what may...
After a couple years of maybe 5 pick-ups max, I started to get back into the hobby a bit more in September of last year. I've always been lurking around here but decided to try and post a little more! Trying to be a little more thoughtful that I used to be about pick-ups, and mostly trying to...
Wow, what a walk down memory lane!
I have always been more of a lurker than an active poster, sadly, so I don’t consider myself among the famous graduates of BMB, but I realized when reading this thread that I joined BMB in 2003 when I was 13, and just turned 30, so I have been silently...
I've stepped away from collecting for the most part, but had to chime in and say that my Goldy jersey is now soaked with the thousand tears I've cried. I knew he was going to go, but for such a piss poor return...
