Thoughts on 1990 Topps Sammy Sosa Ink error

It's a printing hickey. You can Google the term for an explanation of how they occur. Most consider them a defect, not an error card with added value.

    Vintage Pick Up Thread

Found this for my local baseball collection. In Aoril 1964, Dizzy Trout visited Marengo IL as a guest speaker for a Father/Son banquet. Trout was employed by the White Sox front office at that time as a team ambassador. Trout was a great storyteller, having been an announcer for several years...

Odd fielding glove swatch - what is it?

Can't figure out why there's woven material adhered to this Vladimir fielding glove relic? Any idea what it is - maybe medical tape? Not sure what purpose adhering it to glove leather serves. Ideas?

    Venezuela Sticker 1990?

Thanks for posting trickey! I purchased the Mark Grace. Haven't heard of 1990 Venezuelan stickers before, but photos give me the legit vibe, along with miked211's review.

Retro Donruss, Fleer, and Topps box breaks: First post (and visit) in the forums in 13 years

Your 1998 Donruss box prices are all about the Crusade chase. You're likely to get the inserts you mention - plus a cool production line card - and no Crusade, but there is the chance. You have seen the crazy amounts people are paying for Crusades, correct? Honestly, not a great time to be...

    The "Cameo" Thread

The blue foil version shouldn't have cost you much. I do think it's a cool action shot. Womack's 1998 Topps Gallery card uses a photo from the same play! What do you think - I think the Gallery photo is a fraction of a second before the Bowman photo?

    The "Cameo" Thread

I recently, after 20 years of looking, found the gold foil autograph of this 1998 Bowman Tony Womack. It's limited to 25 copies. Here it is with the Silver (75 copies) and Blue (500 copies). Definitely my most expensive cameo!

Oh Super Sweet 90's Inserts.... #3

Success after 20 years of looking for the gold foil 1998 Bowman autograph of Tony Womack (I'm nothing if not patient). Have all three versions now, blue (500 copies), silver (75 copies) and gold (25 copies). All that for a Mark Grace cameo appearance!

    Vintage Pick Up Thread

Last year, a previously-unknown 1960 Venezuelan "Beisbol de Grande Ligas" sticker album was uncovered (see article link to Sports Collectors Digest article below), The album had spaces for 220 stickers, but only 114 of the stickers were pasted inside. Only players and executives from three...

    February 2023 - New Arrivals

Haven't bought a hobby box in over a year (just singles and some blasters), but stopped in at a new LCS in Sycamore, IL and glad I couldn't fight the itch to buy a box of 2021 Heritage.

That is correct. Everyone called him Rabbit though, and as you can see on these matchbook, it was sometimes spelled with two Ts, as in Rabbitt.

Today I finished the rainbow for my Rabbit Maranville collection. The final pickup was the green, with all matches intact. My favorite things about the 1934 Diamond Matchbooks are the large checklist and nice little bio write ups.
