Last night I bought two blasters after work. It was late and I was tired so I just ran through the base. The only notable highlight was a Chris Taylor (Dodgers) GU jersey card.
This morning I went through the base and minis again. Good thing I did. I had no knowledge of this year’s Ginter so I...
A day late but....thank you David Wright.
It’s a shame injuries cut your career short but you have been an amazing player and person.
The pull that started my (small) David Wright Collection. Feel free to share your favorite Wright moments and cards.
I decided to skip on the jumbo boxed and just buy a couple packs. I’m glad I did!
Pack 1:
- Kacy Clemens green /99
Pack 2:
- Platinum Cuts Alex Verdugo die-cut autograph /25
The only 2018 Platinum auto I’ve found was /50 and sold for $36 so I’m happy with this pull!
Hello folks! As some of you know I’ve been a collector for a long time (25 years or so). However, I’ve never sent a card off for grading.
One of my prized baseball card possessions is my 2011 Topps Update #175 Mike Trout RC. As the card continues to rise in value I’ve made the decision to get...
I went a little crazy with 2017 Topps Chrome this year. Altogether I bought:
- 1 retail mega box
- 4 blasters
- 1 retail fat pack
My notable pulls were:
Aaron Judge Prizm refractor RC
Cody Bellinger pink refractor RC
Andrew Benintendi negative refractor RC
Carlos Asuaje RC autograph...
I know, cheating a little bit with a partially football mail day.
Since I've re-entered the hobby I have attempted to focus a little bit more on singles instead of busting wax. That's not going very well so far after several retail purchases this week. However, I did pick up a few PC pieces on...
Notable hits:
- Benintendi base RC
- Joe Musgrove negative refractor
Carlos Asuaje autograph
Aaron Judge Prizm refractor
Sent from my iPhone using Freedom Card Board mobile app
What do you collect? Players, pro teams, college alumni, sets, etc?
I've been away from all aspects of the hobby for several months but I'm trying to find my way back in. Right now mh focuses are:
- Tennessee Titans autographs and patches, with a focus on McNair, George, Young and Chris...
Today was my first sports-related mail day in a while since I've taken a little break from the hobby. Last week A_Pharis had a little giveaway during a pack break video on the FCB Facebook page. The four of us watching at the time were sent packages. Got mine today. Thanks Adam!
2012 Playoff...
This is probably the best non-Mantle card in my baseball collection, but it would be a nice start toward getting an Xbox One. Mike Trout is once again one of the hottest names in baseball. This autograph was only found in the online-exclusive 2013 Topps Mini baseball boxes (which guaranteed...
This is going to be very, very hard to let go of. Right now I would likely ONLY consider letting it go for a rather nice Mantle card (preferably multi-GU). If you are interested I will check what you have, but I'm not 100% certain on trading it away. By Beckett it books $150, but the last to...
Last week I logged on to The Bench for the first time in over 2 months; I haven't been involved in the hobby much lately (here on FCB, there, or on any other forum). Little did I remember that I entered a contest on The Bench in January (held by member David K.).
I had 2 messages - 1 from...
It surprised me to see that Mickey Mantle has no releases in 2013 Topps. There is no #7 base, and he has no inserts. Mantle in the base Topps product has been a guarantee since 2006. He was also left out of the 2012 Topps Chrome set.
As a Mantle collector, I wonder why?
The Northern Illinois men's basketball team scored a record-low 4 points in the first half.
The final score? 42-25. The team missed 29 straight shots in the 1st half. Overall, they hit 1 out of 33 threes and barely escaped history for least points scored in a game (20).
Northern...
What did you receive related to the hobby for Christmas?
I didn't ask for anything, but I was surprised by my mother. A few months back Dave and Adam's had a Mantle single for sale that I went back-and-forth on. Eventually, I noticed it was gone from the site so I figured it sold elsewhere...
Since the 1999 World Series, I have collected the 8" beanie bears commemorating the winner of each World Series. Up to 2004, they were made by "Team Beans Team ML Bears". Since 2005, they have been made by Forever Collectibles. They generally look something like this (2011 Cardinals example)...
