Forrest Whitley debuted last night. I have had at least 8 of his autos over the last decade but I sold them all years ago thinking he was a mythical creature that didn't actually exist.
I have one coming to fill that oversight.
One step forward and one step back.
Added Wander Suero to the needs list. He gave up a walk-off hit and is back down to AAA. His ERA is literally infinity.
Spencer Arrighetti debuted (strike out for first two batters he faced, let's see if that continues the whole game) and I already had one...
It happened fast! One more step forward, one step back.
Tayler Scott debuted today, so I have another need on the list.
But Josh Hader also debuted, so one to the new additions.
With Opening Day, I can officially add a new additon. Our new manager, Joe Espada.
My want list will expand in the next few days as we have debuts that I don't have autos for yet.
I'll DM you with some info for next year. This ST is basically over.
One upgrade today.
Jim Fuller - TTM
This was my third attempt and persistence paid off. This upgrades an index card.
Four new additions this week, two of which will need upgrades in the future.
Ryan Hartman - purchased for 75 cents, so not a bad cost for a placeholder.
Ralph Garza, Jr - another 75 cent placeholder. I'll do these all day long.
Grae Kessinger - obtained in ST through a consignment
Corey...
It has been quite a week, thanks to Spring Training! Another one off of the needs list, not just the upgrade list.
Niko Goodrum. He literally only signs during Spring Training and is unlikely to be invited to many more, so pumped to have this one off of my list.
HUGE mailday today. These are such rare events now.
Let's start with two upgrades including a doozie.
Rudy Owens, upgraded from a Minor League card. Obtained TTM.
Paul Householder via private signing. His signature is slowly shrinking, but it's an impossible signature off the upgrade...
One upgrade since my last post.
This is a big upgrade. This is his only Astros card and I've never seen another signed (though surely a few more do exist). He has now officially retired from Japanese baseball, so this will be tough for anyone to get done going forward.
One upgrade from a Private Signing
One to add to the "Oh, a giant white spot to avoid and sign over the black area instead" auto pile. This was a private signing, but it isn't a big enough deal to fret about. Unlikely to ever try to reupgrade. I'm not sure what else to expect from a player...
