Looks good as far pictures go. Each part of the "AQUEOUS TEST" should match up exactly with the placement on all other Paul O'Neill Aqueous cards. The placement matches the publicly viewable one in the PSA Set Registry. The difference in feel is very slight and not something I would personally...
Odd fact related to today's events: 1950s Philadelphia Phillies player Granny Hamner was driving on Tampa's Sunshine Skyway Bridge when it collapsed after a ship collision in 1980.
I didn't include anything to be signed when I sent Bobby Shantz a letter asking him about a relation of mine who was his teammate for a few seasons. I included his usual signing fee for his time and reached him at 152 Mount Pleasant Ave, Ambler, PA 19002. Shantz wrote back last week, completing...
Bowing is common in this set and is generally not seen as a condition problem. The cards are made of layers of multiple materials which expand and contract at different rates based on environmental factors. The result of one side of the card expanding at a different rate is a bowing card.
Happy New Year. I woke up shaking my head this morning from a dream in which I was excitedly pulling PSA 9 Gary Sheffield Topps rookies from a box at a yard sale.
My package arrived today as well. When @mrmopar reached out and asked if I had any specific collecting interests, I gave a rather vague answer that I was looking for junk wax era Jose Canseco items. Today's mail included a very large envelope stuffed with goodies.
The item that first caught my...

2023 Hobby Goals Report Card:
Invite some card collecting neighbors to inaugurate a new deck with drinks and the opening of some sort of 1990s wax box. The deck didn't near completion until this month, but the neighbors and I hung out anyway.
Go to at least two large card shows. Attended...
Happy to finally nab a long overdue upgrade of a filler card. The card on the right arrived Friday. The one on the left is not only creased and torn, but was trimmed long before it accumulated some of its wear.
I haven't sold anything on eBay in a while so I may be missing something. For years most of the eBay auctions I have viewed have included a description that was little more than an exact quote of the item title. Sometimes the seller would feel talkative and add a few lines extolling the virtues...
This card just arrived in the last few days. It is a 1952 Topps Bill Rigney and was the final card needed to complete the second series of the set. This is the first time I have ever completed a series from a vintage issue.
I always loved Diamond Kings! The black and white Dream Team subsets from Score were short-lived highlights as well. The Topps All-Star cards with bright backgrounds are also something I have always been drawn to, particularly the 1958 and 1989 editions.
