Lineup Cards
When I stated “copy” I did mean carbon copies. I didn’t even know they were making reproduction scorecards.
I know there are several managers whose autographs are collectible as well so I thought the original form (top piece) would be the most valuable.
It would be nice to...
Such an interesting read and collection focus. I’d really like to pick up a few lineup cards in the future. I don’t know a whole lot about them, but would make for an interesting display. When it comes to old school lineups can I assume the original would be worth far more than the copy...
365
I know an interesting thread about a single player (or a team) would be an interest to me. On another board there’s a current running of 365 days of Clemente items that I check daily. Prior to this there was also one on Lou Brock which listed some great items. By the way thanks for the...
Robbie
So glad these are making a return. I’m a Robbie fan, especially for a few years when he was with the Orioles. Very much enjoy reading about collections, but especially the single player type; this was no exception.
Just wondering if any of the collection is displayed? Love the...
Curt,
That is very cool to to find something you didn’t know existed, hear about it being out there “somewhere” then ultimately picking up the piece. What’s even better it’s a card that was produced, but the proof is of a different pose. How bout a pic of the whole sheet?!?
Collecting
We all know that people collect for all sorts of reason. I really don’t consider myself a baseball card collector since I only collect Brooks Robinson cards from his playing days. I do collect all types of other memorabilia of his as well. I also pick up Orioles displayable items...
I guess I expect a thread on FCB on the Baltimore Orioles, the team I have followed as long as I remember, to be some O’s cards, odd-ball items, possibly memorabilia, and maybe even some discussion about the current team and games. I don’t really expect grade school humor. I did what you said...
The thread is “Baltimore Orioles”.
While I don’t collect modern I do enjoy viewing others collections and why individuals collect what they do. Also, I don’t collect pre-war, but enjoy viewing this as well. I think most collectors really like to see other collections no matter what it is as...
I think it’s a great idea to bring it back and/or something similar. I enjoy viewing others collections and possibly their room where the cards and memorabilia are displayed. It’s always nice to put a name with a face as well and get some background as to why they collect and possibly what...
Brooks Robinson
In the early ’70s, the Commissioner’s Office made it mandatory for anyone entering into MLB to wear an ear flap on your helmet. Exsisting players had a choice, but Brooks stated he liked the safety aspect, since he had been beaned in the head several times over the years, and...
Remember that Lou Piniella was an Oriole first...
I’m possibly one of the biggest ‘60’s - 70’s Orioles fan, a big fan of the rest of the years O’s, loved all of the Orioles players (excluding Jackson ;) )and possibly the biggest Brooks Robinson fan. So, I’m pretty much a lifer O’s fan.
'69 Tasco Print
I really don't know that much about them, but I used to see them for sale all the time back in the day, but only come up once in a while now. I have a couple of the Brooksie's, but that's about it.
