Its really disappointING that Pinnacle/Select didn't stick around for a few more years. The evolution of their insert technology was getting really interesting.

Completely agree. '98 Select had the typical "super sweet" designs of this era for their base and inserts while '98 Pinnacle Certified was stunning - it pulled off the high-end look and feel that was intended.

It’s funny with these. I don’t think their are any that are not chipped or damaged on the tier 1-4. It seems everybody’s has some and some worse than others. Just my thoughts.

Yea, these definitely would have had a “!” next to them in Beckett back in the day! What’s odd is when I see “gem” graded versions of any card from this set - upon closer look the edges are usually chipped yet still receive a 9 or 9.5. But that’s another conversation.

Have more pictures to share, confirming the existence of more players. Pinnacle Man probably did have a full set of the Select base (except the 3-Stars) and Jersey Number parallels.

Yea, I think these are high asking prices as well. At least [MENTION=3887]AUTaxMan[/MENTION] now has some clearer scans to add to the website!
