Hopefully this thread will help player collectors, such as myself, locate these hard-to-find cards of their player. These Donruss/Leaf cards were given away at the 2002 National in Chicago and the 2003 National in Atlantic City, and are embossed with the National logo and serial numbered to 5. Some are even serial numbered to 1.
Also hard to find are the Chicago Collection/Chicago Sun Times Collection cards. These cards were among the first in a project in which Donruss/Playoff unveiled a show-exclusive program. At the March 2002 Chicago Sun-Times Show, if a collector opened a box at the Donruss/Playoff booth -- they received a card from what Donruss/Playoff called the "Chicago Collection". Donruss/Playoff created a limited amount of singles from selected products and sequentially numbered each card to 5. The cards were distributed on a strict product-specific basis. For example, collectors who opened 2001 Donruss packs or boxes in front of a Donruss representative were be rewarded with the appropriate number of 2001 Donruss Chicago Collection cards sequentially numbered out of 5.
As the years go by these cards become harder and harder to find. If you have any, please post what you have as you'll probably help a player collector cross off another card on their want list.
