Yikes! Almost a year since a post in this great thread...the app preventing multiple pics from posting at a time has prevented me from posting the pickups, but just did it in another thread so maybe that is fixed?! Let's give it a shot with some test pics

Dont know where i could find an 09 sweet spot do you?
Love the cards in here. Ill see Doerr cards and wonder if youve seen them.

Never seen one. It's #/15 so I'm not surprised that it hasn't popped up considering that 2009 doesn't seem as popular as the set was in the 2005-era.

And if you see any please send them my way in case I have missed them! Still thankful you got out of the way on the Doerr/Yaz sweet spot I picked up as few months ago.

Thanks,
Jeff

Pickups from this week:

2016 Topps National VIP Exclusive Promo x10 (have a sealed pack on the way)

2003 Flair Greats HT x2-these aren't that rare but are extremely hard to track down. Never seen one on the bay, and found these on another site and took a chance.

2005 UD Origins Blue #/50
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1471704202.123651.jpg

2006 Diamond Signatures-this is another tough one as these were sold in sets only so it's rare to see singles for sale, and when they are they are listed for crazy prices. This one was a much more reasonable buy.

1948 Leaf PSA 2-doesn't quite match the Playball in terms of wow factor, but always loved the colors on this one.

And last but not least

2016 Topps Archives Blank Back #1 /1-I LOVE Doerr in this set-from the 1991 design to the shot they used of Doerr, it's one of my favorites of the last 12-14 years

I wouldn't classify myself as a Doerr collector but I have this trio of cards for my Red Sox Hall Of Fame collection:

I was pleaseantly surprised to see a collector thread for this highly underrated keystoner.

I picked up a couple cards of his to maybe send off for signature. Anyone is a risk of loss TTM, but especially at his age it will become more and more risky, but I may still roll the dice. I have a 50 Drake and a 51T Blue Back. I'd like to get his 38 Goudey as well, but have not found a decent one at a price I can stan d to lose if I mail it and it never comes back!

The goudey heads up set is one of my all time favorites. If I had the money I'd make a run at it. For my vintage cards I throw condition to the side but even poor condition in that set is more than I can part with.

Thanks for looking---until 2015!

Thanks,
Jeff

So I'm a little confused :/ I added the card above back in late 2014 and had it catalogued as Persian Blue Linen 1/1.

Well yesterday I just won an auction for a Persian Blue Linen 1/1! Yikes!

Now 2007 UD Masterpiece is a complete mess for a player collector as the parallels are similar in color and numbering. It's possible the one I already have is the Celestial Blue 1/1, but at this point no idea.

Anybody an expert in this set and being able to tell the difference? Will post pics once I receive.

Thanks,
Jeff

I never really got into collecting that set very much as it does have way too many parallels. I have the base, box topper, box topper auto, green linen, black linen #/99, and bronze #/1. I wish they would have put the parallel name on the back of the cards....but that would have been too easy. :benson: As long as you have both the blue 1/1's then I guess you don't need to tell them apart.

Wow what a run of 2005 Timeless Treasures Doerr's that just ended... was active in all 5 auctions but only ended up with 1. Must be off my game lol

Anybody else here ( scotty216brs or rebelpawn ) end up with any?

1/1 , 3 #/5 and a Prime #/5 all listed by the same seller.

Thanks,
Jeff

Looks like James won a couple of them. I was watching them but held off bidding because I'm waiting on a couple nice auctions this week. That was a nice set, makes me miss DLP yet again...

I hope he did! Always hope that one of you two get it if I can't! And I agree Scotty-2005 Absolute is probably my favorite all time modern set.

Thanks,
Jeff

I want to send to him one more time, but am apprehensive. I always fear a loss of items and that kept me from ever sending Duke Snider his RC to sign. I have a 51T Blue Back and a 50 Drake that I want to send, as well as a 79 Bubble Yum Blue Jay photo. I'd add a 38 Goudey too, if I could find a nice clean copy that wasn't going to break the bank.

Has anyone heard how he is doing health wise and what his most recent TTMs look like?

His recent autos are rough looking compared to how he used to sign....I'd imagine he still signs TTM, but it's not going to look that great IMO.

I don't usually do the whole rainbow thing but I've been looking for the 2011 Tribute Doerr Dual Relic Gold #/20 since 2011.
I had never seen one until last week and it came in the other day and I finally finished the set :)
