Struck out on one pitch recently

I knew about this rule because I used to umpire little league and was a crazy person in terms of learning all the rules.

Never seen it in a game before.

what a joke. The first pitch was WAY off the plate. The guy backed off and was fixing his gloves and got #2 ? WHAT? Then the catcher stood up and #3 was called... That ump is a joke..

I wish Major League Baseball would start enforcing the rule...there is no reason for a batter to step out of the box after every pitch, undo his batting gloves, then do them back up again...

I realize in this case the batter was probably trying to clear his mind...but some batters step out after EVERY pitch...
