Remember how good Mike Hampton was?
Yeah he was decent with the bat, wasn't he? Good pitcher as well....it's too bad his career ended the way it did with all of the injuries.

The best hitting full-time pitcher (based on my knowledge) was probably Wes Ferrell. Had 38 career HRs, 208 RBI, a career slash line of .280/.351/.446 with an OPS+ of exactly 100 which is league average. Decent pitcher too who pitched for some bad teams, did get a no-hitter in 31'.

It was a joke. He only had one hand.
Oh no kidding. He takes Mordecai 'Three Finger' Brown to a whole new level.

I had looked at his stats and saw he had like 20-some odd ABs his last season so I didn't know if he wanted to become a hitter or something. I guess that explains why his BR page says:

Bats: Left, Throws: Left , Fields Left as well

Remarkable career all considering.

Interleague play.
Well that's the thing, none of the Red Sox pitchers would ever be able to become a hitter and the non-West Coast interleague away games I did watch last year, no pitcher caught my eye at the plate. I think only Kyle Kendrick got a hit, and he's not one to make a career out of it, lol.

Mike Leake on even years...He's hit close to or over .300 (.750 OPS) in even years, around .200 (.450 OPS) in odd years :)

Over 60 PAs each year so a fair amount of data for a pitcher.

Hm, not bad at all! Even with his even and odd years he still has a decent slash line of .251/.283/.322

I was going to say Bronson Arroyo because I remembered him hitting 2 home runs in a season opener but I just checked his career batting stats (.123 BA, 6 HR's, .145 OBP) and changed my mind. What is a "good" batting average for an NL pitcher these days?
