Did you really do it for Christ's sake? I am sure he appreciated the effort!

    Just a metaphor.

We all know he didn't really exist.

    Praise Allah.

Nothing better than seeing a band live.

I tried to share a somewhat obscure song that I recently rediscovered from the LP Getting' Lucky. I used to buy a lot of used albums and sometimes I would buy them untested if I had already heard of the band or had a different album by them or if they had a member from another band I liked.

Just about everyone knows Head East for "Never Been Any Reason", and they are definitely considered a one hit wonder. They have a pretty good sound though and some other decent songs.

The 70s and 80s had the best album covers too!

Though I was born in 1987, I grew up listening to The Irish Rovers thanks to my mom (I still listen to them, and have all of their albums through the years). Right around St. Patrick's Day, I had the opportunity to see them live and get a poster signed at a meet and greet after, but even better, I took my mother as a birthday present so that she could see them for the first time. They're retiring after this tour, so it's also the last chance we'd have had to see them. They sound the same now as they did in their recordings in the 60s and 70s.

A few weeks ago, I worked at the Styx concert that rolled through town. Good music never ages, and they were fantastic. They played with The Outlaws, who I guess also played in the 70s, but they weren't really my cup of tea. Anyway, aside from playing great music, they also pandered to us because of our hockey history and the movie Slap Shot, and the singer came out waving a Terrible Towel for the encore performance (I live in Steeler country).

Aside from a great show, they also had some autographed guitars on display, including ones signed by the entire bands of KISS and Rush. They were pretty cool.

They closed out a great show with this gem :
