What really caught my attention was the buybacks of older Tek. Will there really be buybacks of 1998 Tek Diffractors? If so, how did they acquire them? Will they be specially stamped (or something?) Will an on-card auto from any of these years look decent?

I really hope they don't stamp the diffractors and I don't like the look of signed 98 teks.

I haven't looked at the checklist but Bagwell has a promo so I'm pretty sure I'll be chasing this stuff some.

I'm still confused about how the #d parallels work for this set. 100 base cards and 12 patterns for each one, I get that. But does that mean for Gold diffractors (#d not announced yet) there will be 12 patterns as well? That math on that just doesn't make a lot of sense seeing as how there will only be 1 parallel per box:

PARALLEL CARDS - 1 per box: Gold Diffractor #'d, Ice Diffractor #'d, Disco Diffractor #'d, Clouds Diffractor #'d, Black & White Image #/15, Red Storm Diffractor #/10, Blue Dots Diffractor #/5, Charcoal Galactic Diffractor 1/1, Printing Proofs 1/1

So lets say lowest scenario, the 4 parallels where the print run is not published are all #/d 15. That would be 91 cards, discounting plates. 91 * 1200 base cards = 109,200 #d parallel cards. And at only 1 per pack(box), that means 9,100 12-box cases produced. This seems unlikely.

I know I know wishful thinking.

I'm honestly tired of the hobby right now. I hope I can clearly understand what he has in this product. I mean an Omar auto for $100?!?! It's like every card in the product will start at a $100 BIN lol

Anyways, carry on, sorry for the rant.

Part of me hopes this bombs like new coke because of the absolutely positively moronic way topps decided to package it. And if this happens, maybe (not holding breath) topps changes it for 2015.

The other part though would feel bad for all the dealers who get stuck with it after paying original cost, like stadium club.

This. Topps is becoming a 1 trick pony with their 1 auto per pack products. If opening retail on BO is $694/case ($57.90/box), look for $40 boxes by New Year's.
