Please, be a bit more in depth with titles. Not everyone wants to be surprised by clicking on a link with a story about a finger falling off.

But, yes. The finger that he had surgically reattached fell off. It was previously shot off while cleaning a gun.

Sad that this story is even of interest to anyone. The news clip mentioned having to feel sorry for the guy??? He is cleaning a gun and din't realize it was loaded? I don't own a gun, but assume that checking it clear would be step #1 before handling it, especially for cleaning! He's lucky he is not getting a Darwin Award for this action!!

Secretly hoping he auctions off the finger, and there can be a game used poker "almost best hand" card made with it.

This is medically impossible. A reattached finger would be in a splint and bandaged for a couple of weeks.

you don't think it was so badly damaged that blood flow could not be established upon reattachment and it eventually decayed and became loose?

It was bandaged, but his fingers were exposed.

If it was so badly damaged it would not have reattached. If blood flow could not be established there's no point in reattachment.
To become loose for a bad blood flow it would have taken days in which necrosis would have been apparent and Canseco would have been at the ER and not at a Poker Tournament. Also, with that level of necrosis infection would start spreading in his hand.

sometimes a bullet can be lodged into the chamber, so when you unload the gun itd appear to be unloaded already. knew someone who was died that way.
