I've picked up several Index cards recently, particularly players that are no longer with us and for some reason I really like them. I don't know if it's the ability to add a little note with a date or years played, something personal that adds to the sig's story or how they just seem to have a vintage/timeless feel to them. In your experiences, are players more or less likely to sign index cards vs. baseball, etc? Just curious as I'm sending some out either way. Particularly for those less common, cup of coffee types

I think index cards are hit or miss as far as guys signing them. I've seen plenty of old time players sign them no problem, but I've heard that clubs are teaching the younger guys not to sign them because then they can be used for identity theft, card fraud, etc. In the end it just depends on the players. I have gotten signed index cards back from Bunning, Doerr, and a couple of ***** League players.

Couldn't have said it better myself...it really is just hit or miss...I got a bunch of index cards signed for my Shea Stadium project, with no problem, and they are fun, cuz on the lined side you can write "Dear Mr. Soandso, please sign your name on the other side of this card and add played for the Brewers, 5 games in 1991" or whatever. I don't think anyone ever refused me, and the only problem I had once was Roger Craig wrote what I asked, and added an extra inscription, but forgot to sign his name, haha, but it's still cool, cuz it's handwritten by him

I recently started putting index cards in all my TTMs and they seem to be pretty much a miss. Majority of the old timers (well, pre-80) seem to consistently sign them but once I send out to players from the eighties and on, I've only gotten like 1 signed out of 50 or so, so far.

Do you jazz yours up at all or just toss in a few blanks?

When I saw you got Rick Cerone back my first thought was...did he sign it sideways? Then I saw the pic, and knew the answer was...yup. Haha. Man I gotta send to Cubbage too
