Chris's thread about IP autographs inspired me to start digging through my storage unit looking for autographs. Almost all IP/TTM collectors will have some stories on how a player's autograph has changed since they were young.

For example, Adam Jones. I got the signature below in person August 2003 during the AZL the same year he was drafted. Today, his autographs look completely different. Would love to see some examples from anybody else.

Gomes's signature made one substantial change near the end of 2003, going from the auto in the first three cards to the auto in the final four cards (with a short-lived "transitional" signature shown on the fourth card). The major differences are in the "J" and in the "G." Both versions--the 2001 to 2003, and the 2003/04 to present--started out longer, then shortened over the years. His earliest signature reads as "Jony Gs," while his current signature reads as "J Gs"

2001, 2002, 2002, 2003 (on 2002 card), 2004 (on 2003 card), 2005, 2006, 2011.

This is one of the earliest autos of Gomes that I have (second row, third signature). Although in subsequent autographs it looks like a "7," this one shows a full "s" at the end of his name.

...and then there is Bobby Doerr! The slop these players dole out these days hardly counts as a signature
