I've been collecting stuff, mostly Mets since the late 70's early 80's. Most of sitting in boxes until I finally decided to start displaying a few weeks ago....Nowhere near done, I still have lots of wall space I'm going to fill up....
I feel your pain with Alaska. My dad lives up there and it's difficult to send him gifts. What always ends up happening is I let everything pile up, then just pack it in a suitcase to go visit. It almost seems cheaper to buy a plane ticket than ship stuff.
I can't recall the members name on here, but he was a Yankees fan/collector that had arguably the best displays of a baseball collection I've ever seen.
And THAT is coming from a Red Sox fan.
Love the bats between the card frames. I had the mini-version of that. The "jars of balls" is a cool touch too!
There are some great displays here. Our finished attic is the home for my collection. Here are a few photos, it's a little bit of a mess right now, it seems half the fun is always rearranging and reorganizing the displays. Most of my stuff on display is from my Gary Carter and Roger Staubach collections. I apologize for the picture quality, lighting is dim and I was just using my cell phone.
Gary Carter display--the shelf of cards is filled with Gary Carter cards that were all from Gary Carter's personal card collection
Gary Carter and Darryl Strawberry game used jerseys and bats
Gary Carter items from the Carter family auction back in November
