When I found out Charlie Murphy died I was legitimately sad.

I normally don't get sad about celebrity deaths, because I really don't know them, you know? But Charlie's made me belly laugh sooooo hard so many times, and still does every single time I watch his stuff.

I was thinking about it and I believe the last celebrity death I was legitimately sad about was Harold Ramis. That's was a shame.

I have been pretty sad about a few athletes and professional wrestlers passing away, but I don't really lump them into the 'celebrity' category. Muhammad Ali, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage were all heroes of mine growing up, and when I found out they died I was extremely bummed.

I was saddened at the deaths of Phil Hartman, John Candy and Chris Farley most of any, probably because all were fairly young and unexpected, but also because I enjoyed their work so much. I can't say I know Murphy or his work well other than being related to Eddie. 57 is too young though.
