My personal definition is 1986-1995. You can find good product in that era as well, like 1989 Upper Deck, 1990 Leaf. 1993 starts to get into some premium product like Finest, but there is still junk in the early to mid 90's as well.

Guilty pleasure opening junk wax: 1991 Donruss to pull a Sandberg Elite, and 1987 Fleer since I obsessed over the Will Clark and Bo Jackson cards as a kid.

It is kind of like what people think of when being a gen-xer, or being a millennial, etc. There isn't really a set range that EVERYONE agrees on. For me, I think a widely casted net would be 86 to 95, with 88 to 92 being the super junk wax years

Depends on the brand. '87-'93 for Topps. '88-'92 for Donruss (Doesnt Leaf still have a press running the '88's?). '89-92 for Fleer. '90-'92 for UD. '88-93 for Score. I can't say Sportflics were ever junk wax.

What is the definition of "junk wax"? Is it overproduced sets or ones where there is literally 0 value.
