I'm wondering how high up on the Russian priority list Blowout would be.

These hackers that would get a small site like blowout are targeting the platform and not the specific customer roster.

Blowouts storefront uses an old (but still good) version of zencart that has a few holes.

So as a hacker you identify small targets that don't have an IT budget based on what software they run.

X exploit exists on Y platform

Find Y platforms all across the internet

Attempt to run X on all of them

See what you can get

Like breaking into your neighbors Honda to see if you can.

Then using that intel to break into a Honda that has a purse and laptop on the front seat.

I'm not sure if it was the breach at Blowout, but I had some fraudulent use the CC that I used there in early April. My last Blowout purchase had been in early March.

I already have a new card number, so the breach was identified at Blowout after my card had been compromised.
