I picked up an Ichiro bust identical to the one in the ebay link below at the local Goodwill a couple days ago. I have never seen these before at all. Does anyone know much about these? Are these very desirable?

i busted a few of these boxes back in 03. you got a box of cards and a bust came 1 per box. there are different versions; pewter, marble, bronze, and signed versions. i dont know how desired they are but theyre cool.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, saw it sitting mixed in with a bunch of other housewares junk, and had to grab it. Not a huge Ichiro fan, but it is pretty cool looking.

This was back when bobble heads were starting to blow up, and companies were trying to think of anything unique they could include in card boxes. Remember back in the first half of the aughts? There were boxes with hats, baseballs, batting helmets, portraits, bobble heads, statues, all kinds of stuff. That trend has largely disappeared, eh?

Funny to think what used to be included in boxes. Now you can buy a box with one pack of 4 cards for hundreds of dollars. Always interesting to me how this hobby has morphed through the years.
