Fwiw I love. Blowout. I have tremendous respect for Tom, chris and yes even houdini. In this business you can't please everyone. I'm going through to read this thread and will have responses.

The only thing I really like not on this site is SCF's TTM manager. Haven't been there in a while due to quitting TTM but it is awesome. Probably not enough TTM interest these days to put anything like that here though.

I have no problem with Blowout. I've made thousands of posts there are around 100 transactions. I can see why it isn't for everyone, but to each their own. There is more traffic there by far than any other forum, which is great for buying/selling/trading which is what this hobby is all about.
Brian Orakpo, Sean Taylor, and Craig Kimbrel super collector! Also collect Ultra Lucky 13 RCs from years 2004-2007, Texas Longhorns, Miami Hurricanes, Virginia Tech Hokies, Virginia Cavaliers, current Washington Redskins, current Atlanta Braves, and Roger Federer.

Buying, selling and trading is not all what this hobby is about. It's about people, friendships and sharing and enjoying the hobby.

The best aspect of the blowout forums is the traffic. The high volume of people leads to the creation of a variety of topics where you get responses within seconds, not hours...or days. The off-topic section & member feedback sections were very entertaining, at least until the increase in moderation (but if you weren't a trouble maker who tried to push the envelope you likely wouldn't have even noticed...although from what I hear on my blowout fantasy league mods are handing out suspensions to everyone lately, even to the less noisy members). It just seemed like there was always at least one interesting thread on any given second of the day where everyone was responding.

This is also the reason I'd agree blowout isn't for everyone. With such a high volume of members you get a wide variety of differing personalities and when they all clash sh*t can get crazy and some people will be offended for one reason or another.

Most people I've known who have been banned from there are real bitter about it and will talk crap about the site. Personally I enjoyed my time on there. Some of the politics among the mods rubbed me the wrong way at times but I believe for the most part, my banishment was deserving. I mean, they gave me a second chance so I can't complain. It's sort of ironic though. Looking back, I'm amazed some of my posts never landed me a suspension but the post that finally did me in was completely undeserving of even a warning. In no way was the intended purpose of that post to offend or provide dirty humor. I can't remember exactly what the post was but I do remember being completely caught by surprise when I found out I was banned. It wasn't houdini who pushed the button either. He even sent me an e-mail telling me that it wasn't him and that he personally wouldn't have handed out a suspension/banishment but it was out of his hands at that point.
