I would imagine the 82 Fleer Ripken/ Ford sample would be huge.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to in post #9. In 2013 there were a.few that went for like $300ish and a full sheet that want extremely cheap. It's I wish I would have bought for sure, but like on many items, I never pulled the trigger.

I still haven't seen an 88 Tara plaque. Has Ron darling on the Mets checklist on the back.

Can you guys check yours when you get a chance?

I've checked hundreds of images over the years. I'm not will to say it exists 100%. Besides Darling it supposedly has some spelling variations like on Santiago Benny/Benito etc. Who knows but I'd love to see one.

I would like to know where the rumor of this variation originated. No one ever claims to have seen one, yet tons of us have scoured the Earth to find them.

No idea either, but after 20 years of looking etc, and no one has seen it, the only thing I could think of is a test issue. Meaning they were going to relaunch, a package(s) was made and never distributed. Or someone though it about what idea could I spread that means really nothing bit causes people to spend time on it.

Is that Griffey really a thing?

It is print "flaw" where the card received low level of cyan in the printing process. They are not very hard to find, there is one on COMC right now. All of the junk era stuff can be found with variations like these.

That said, I think they are cool and would grab one on the cheap.

1988 SDSU Alumni fundraiser set. Sets were distributed at a hotel fundraiser event for a donation, one day only. Tony Gwynn and Mark Grace are the big names. I've seen about 5 sets in the last 20 years, bought 4 of them, and gotten $100-$150 for the Grace card alone each time.

Do you have link to it on Comc?

Here are some others. While rare the '85 and '86 Tiffany sets are limited to 5,000 making PSA 10's relatively rare:
1982 Fleer John Littlefield Rev. Neg.
1989 Upper Deck Dale Murphy Rev. Neg. (in PSA 10)
1986 Donruss Highlights White Letter Variations
1987 Cubs Canon Greg Maddux
1988 Cubs Canon Greg Maddux (seems rarer than the '87)
1985 Topps Tiffany Clemens and McGwire (in PSA 10)

I know these are 90's but '90 to '92 are really apart of that Junk Wax Era IMO...

1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF 414B and the Blackless 1990 Topps
1990 Topps George Bush USA1
1992 Score Franchise Musial/Mantle/Yaz Auto /500
1990 Topps Mylar Test

The Canseco 1989 Score Sample - as far as I know there are only 3 that exist (mine included).

None of these are particularly rare, in of themselves. A large amount of white letter 86 Highlights have surfaced over the last few years and show up for sale with some frequency. Same with the Littlefield error. Not considering condition sensitivity on the 1985 tiffanys, the cards themselves are not rare at all. Much of the stuff listed so far in this thread almost never shows up for sale or have only shown up in tiny quantities.
