This is pretty spot on. Last Griffey Red sold on eBay PSA9 for $8,100. Plus I know a buyer who would pay 7K-8K for a raw Griffey version without blinking.

It's been awhile since I've seen one of these sell, but the price I listed is what I'm looking to get - perhaps it is overpriced, or perhaps it is fair. Appreciate everyone's thoughts on the matter!

$2000 wouldn't even get you in the ballpark for a Griffey. Try $7000-$10000.

Looking for any Griffey item I don't have.

I don't understand the craziness on some of these older cards.

I apologize, but you are way out of your element here. There are several standing offers from Griffey collectors for Crusade Reds, some upwards of $10K for an ungraded copy.

OP has a card. he listed it with a price. the market will determine what is fair.

no reason to make a post sarcastically asking if the price is a typo...for many player collectors, the 1998 Red Crusade or 1996 Select Mirror Gold is a highly sought after card. again, if a Pudge sells for $1k, I could see the Maddux selling for 2x that.

p.s. I don't follow Clemens, Bonds, Pudge markets...but I do know that many of the guys associated with PEDs saw their markets crater. A-Rods are worth nowhere near as much as they used to.
I collect Pedro Martinez, Mike Piazza, Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers prospects and Trevor Bauer (and anything nice that catches my eye)

I had a fun run collecting Crusades, but when I lost on a Ripken Purp for something like 550-650 I knew I was done

I guess one pro of buying one is the prices don't seem to be stopping anytime soon and resale should be nice.

The whole thing reminds me of the Dave Chappelle skit where he is getting a haircut and the tv shows how much money he is worth, then the guy says "new price. . . 50 million dollars" You can truly name your price on this stuff.

Best of luck to the seller, your price is certainly fair. (and if you don't find a buyer you could sell for 3k in few years)

No, $600 is laughable. It's an easy $1k+ and I'm not going to speculate on the exact end price (Ripken PSA10 Red).

I sold a Maddux Green and Purple earlier in the year and $2k for a Red isn't happening IMO. GL with the sale but I'm not even sure if you'd get more than a watcher or two on eBay at that value.
WTB Cal Ripken cards from Cal's playing years!

I have a PSA 10 Ripken Red and paid more than $1,300 for it. Just curious what people thought. Ripken is probably one of the better cards in the set. If Griffey is $10k+ it would seem Ripken would be $3k perhaps.

Based on what some of the other cards have increased to my guess for a Ripken 10 would be about 6k
