Ronald Acuna, Michael Kopech & Bo Bichette are my frontrunners for minor league player of the year. Devers is also a possibility but will 370 at-bats be enough at-bats to give him the honors?

Acuna, Eloy Jimenez & Kopech are my top candidates for #1 prospect when the 2018 rankings are released (Guerrero will be up there too although I tend to disagree. I think he's a top 5 prospect but I'd take those 3 players over him). I would have included Devers but I'm going off the assumption he'll no longer qualify for prospect status in 2018.

You forgot Torres - but with him out, Vladdy is a virtual lock to be #1, at least for BA. Callis agrees, per his newest MLB Pipeline inbox.

Dang, completely forgot about Hays because he isn't a top 100 prospect (he will be in 2018 lists.) & I was only paying attention to those lists. I think Torres will still be around the top 5 prospects but I think his injury may prevent him from landing within the top 3 spots.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm afraid Vladdy will land #1 & #2 on most lists. Certainly has a huge upside at such a young age but I'd take Acuna over him simply because he presents as above average or better with all 5 tools. I'd take Eloy over Vladdy as well but the two of them have a pretty similar game. Vladdy may project to have a little more power but Eloy is already displaying it. With all the good young hitters at the moment it's easy to forget about pitching but Kopech has been killing it too. Honeywell deserves to be among the top 10.

Another Joey Wentz ranking update

2.19 ERA - 1st (2nd All Leagues)
2.53 FIP - 1st (1st All Leagues)
3.10 xFIP - 1st (1st All Leagues)
1.03 WHIP - 5th (8th All Leagues)
137 Strikeouts - 2nd (3rd All Leagues)
10.4 K/9 - 2nd (5th All Leagues)
.199 BAA - 1st (1st All Leagues)

Considering the fact he's been the best pitcher in single-A (based on both traditional & advanced stats), leaving Joey Wentz off the midseason top 100 lists was a huge oversight. I'm confident they won't make the same mistake when the 2018 ranks are released.

While going through these stats I've noticed a fellow team member who is pretty much right behind in most league ranks

Bryse Wilson

2.36 ERA - 2nd
3.09 FIP - 4th
3.13 xFIP - 2nd
1.02 WHIP - 4th
120 Strikeouts - 3rd
9.2 K/9 - 6th
.208 BAA - 5th
9 Wins - 3rd

Even this kid possibly has a shot at making some top 100 appearances in the future. After all, his numbers are pretty similar to what Soroka put up last year in single-A at the same age & he's now a top 50 prospect. Probably has a lower ceiling than Soroka but then again, this was pretty unexpected of a 4th round pick.

I think Jack Flaherty is often overlooked and has the stats to be a dark horse candidate for minor league player of the year. Nah, I don't see it happening

but regardless:

12-4, 2.17 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 136.2 IP 139 K/32 BB (AA/AAA combined FIP around 3.30)

Would the Cards get off their arses & give him the call already?!??
