In 2001 a simple white textured card with the sweet spot portion of a baseball embedded inside (including stitches so very different from the 2000 sweet sigs leather autos) a bice mix of the days stars, managers and legends were included.

52 total cards were included. for MY purpose of a set I exclude 4 to be complete (unless I win the lottery)
those 4 include:

Babe Ruth (I have a pic and it's on eBay for a low $99,000)

Mickey mantle (also have a pic, being so clean copies go 2500-3500)

Joe DiMaggio "Yankee clipper" (an SP portion of the entire DiMaggio print run, attainable but not needed)

Ty Cobb (this card is on 3 checklists, I've never seen a pic)

What an odd mix of players, coaches and managers. Wonder how they came up with their checklist?

But the cards look great, hope you can find the last few you are looking for!

That's a great set. I strongly considered attempting it a couple times, but decided to just get the guys I wanted from different years.

I remember seeing the Ty Cobb on ebay or somewhere when the product came out. If I recall, it was a fairly rough or aged ball, but the signature was clearly visible. I might be conflating it with the Ruth ball, but in my mind the leather was more darkly worn.

I know I've told you, but I ran a store at the time and the third ball a guy pulled in his case was a DiMaggio...
