So I decided to steal MrMet's idea, which was to steal dano7's idea and start a thread containing all of my Twins autos. As of the posting of this, I don't have all of them scanned yet. I downloaded what I had on Photobucket, but only to find out that I'm way, way behind on my scanning. My criteria for this collection is that it must be a TTM/IP auto (not necessarily obtained by me, but no pack issued autos), it must be a Twins card (Minnesota, if it's an unlicensed card), and the player must have played in at least one MLB game for the Twins. I have plenty of cards signed by prospects but they won't be added to this thread until they have played in an MLB game for the Twins. Once I get everything caught up (yeah right), I'll include cards signed by players who played for the Twins, but the card is not a Twins card. I'm also planning on posting my 8x10s, OMLBs, and other miscellaneous signed items with each player as I post the card I have signed of them.

So to begin with we have not a player card, but a card of the "Hardest Working Mascot in all of Professional Baseball" T.C.

I got this back when I was a kid, probably 15-17 years ago (can't believe I'm getting to be that old)

#1. Oswaldo Arcia- Had a lot of hope for this guy. Big, strong, and a lot of power potential. Just couldn't put it all together on the field for the Twins. Still young at 26, but playing in Japan. Hoping he can pull an Eric Thames and be successful overseas and return to MLB.
7CVSTN0.jpg
z9pMZO1.jpg

#2. Scott Baker- Had a couple of 'decent' years. Decent is in quotes because it hasn't taken too much for a SP to have what is considered a decent year. Heck, the guy was the Opening Day pitcher at one point!
vlaXNol.jpg

#3. Brian Bass
IbOwXmz.jpg

#4. Earl Battey- One of the best catchers in Twins history. Was a key player for the 1965 AL Champion Twins. Had a career that was a cut short due to health issues.
73rQrK8.jpg

#5. Billy Beane- Moneyball. Former first round pick of the Mets (@MrMet) but didn't quite pan out. I'd say he's done fairly well for himself after his playing career ended.
yl9eYqK.jpg

#6. Juan Berenguer- "Señor Smoke" Was the closer for the Twins during their run to the 1987 World Series championship
uwdAWSa.jpg

#7. Nick Blackburn- Competed with Kevin Slowey and Scott Baker for a spot in the rotation. Pretty much sums up his career.
eiwpQYJ.jpg

#8. Tom Brunansky- Was a member of the 1987 World Series team. Was also the team's hitting coach for a short time in the 2010's.
9QXmWTc.jpg

#9. Randy Bush- One of 7 players to play for both the 1987 and 1991 Twins World Series winning teams. Spent his entire career as a Twin (12 seasons)
qMelV86.jpg

#10. Matt Capps- Traded to the Twins for Wilson Ramos. Nationals definitely sold high on him. His lone All-Star Game appearance came in 2010.

Great start! I think I can speak for both in saying we definitely don't mind being copied!! The attachment on the mascot didn't come up. Earl Battey is one I remember from my teen years and appreciated because I don't have an auto of him. Really love the fact that you are also commenting on the players, too. Looking forward to more!!!!!!

Also, why only TTM/IP?

Loving it so far. And like MrMet said, why only IP/TTM cards? I'd love to see everything. Pack pulled autos, game used, base/parallel/inserts, etc..

I'm not exactly sure why I gave myself that qualifier when I started the collection. Part of the reason is when I got back into collecting a few years ago I was trying to get anything and everything Twins related. By doing it this way, I won't be tempted just buy every single Twins auto or game used card when I see them. And, TTM/IP autos tend to be slightly cheaper than pack issued autos.

Hoping to get a few more posted tonight. I've moved a little more into the memorabilia side of collecting, but still enjoy collecting cards. Don't have too much for the Twins PC in terms of cards, but last year I decided to do a Twins patch PC, but I haven't added much to it lately

QJqvAJ8.jpg

Very nice! Loved the Donruss Champions for signatures!!!

There's so much room for a signature. I got the Bert signed at the Twins HOF Breakfast last summer. I didn't have anything in particular that I wanted him to sign so I went through my cards and picked out what I thought was the best looking one for an autograph. He was in a good mood that morning too, even for being 50 minutes late for the thing

I'm loving your thread so far, especially the way you give a brief description of the players. The cards themselves are great as well. Keep posting man!!

Glad somebody is liking this thread  Some of these guys, it's tough to come up with a description. Either there's way too much info to try and put in a couple of sentences or not enough stuff to put a description haha. Most of these were actually posted while at work when the boss was gone

51. Carlos Gomez- Go-Go. The guy was fast. He was also the main return in the Johan Santana trade. He was with the Twins for 2 seasons, then was shipped off to Milwaukee for J.J. Hardy, where he became an all-star caliber player for a few years and even MVP candidate.
fLtAzC0.jpg
0eURSbJ.jpg

52. Phil Hughes- Was a decent signing until they gave him the extension after his great season. Posted an 11.63 K/BB rate his first year as a Twin and then ran into some injuries. Fun fact- I own a game used hat and 2 game used locker tags of his.
XlwTfpR.jpg

ovnaDUz.jpg

EUamoTy.jpg

58. Jason Kubel- Born in Belle Fourche, SD. How many here had to look that up to see where that is? As a kid growing up in South Dakota, I thought this was one of the coolest things ever.
KkWeaCF.jpg

59. Gene Larkin- Member of both the 1987 and 1991 World Series teams. Had the game winning hit in game 7 of the 1991 World Series

I think ur spot on and doing a great job with the descriptions. Id like to think most people on the forum know almost all the guys you've posted so far, and for the 1's we dont, a brief description is all that's needed lol

Looking great........but isn't it required that you have two autographs of each player, since they're TWINS!!!

Haha, well I know I have two autographs of quite a few of these guys, but the other autos are either OMLB or 8x10s. Just wait until I get to some other players. There might be a few sets of 'twin' autos

Great stuff! On our family vacations to Minnesota in the mid '90's we'd usually spend a day hanging out in the players' parking lot outside of the Metrodome collecting autographs. As bad as those teams were, it was usually pretty easy to get most guys as there would only be about 5 other collectors around when the players would arrive in the middle of the afternoon. Go Twins!
