Walker Buehler as this years break-out. Thoughts?

Guys, I've been buying low end Walker Buehler autographs as I see him as a guy who can break out this year.

I snagged this one last night.

    I'm buying BGS 9.5 with 10 autos.

Thinking about escalating to things like this one.

How could this possibly go wrong?

I'm a terrible prospector and my opinion won't matter.

    I'm almost done buying.

I'm only betting like $500 or so. The days of me having $10k stashes are over.

Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt were really good to me.

That was a hell of a grab. I picked up the B.B. auto raw a while back for $20 something. My brother in law is a writer and covers the OKC dodgers and says good things about him, so I figured Id pick up an auto for the PC. Sure seems like hes got some great potential.

BB autos are going like $25+ship

Good buy imo. Chromes are in the $55 range. Seems like gem chromes with 10 autos get about $120

A lot of people like him. He's got the pedigree as a 1st rounder from Vandy, and has done well as a pro, going from A ball to the majors last year. There's a lot to like but...pitchers, man. He might have a good WHIP and K:BB ratio and all that showing he's a good pitcher but if he goes 11-12 people will call him a bust. On the other hand, there's no reason to think he won't expand his success to the majors soon. I assume they'll leave him in the minors a while longer, but he should be in LA soon, then who knows.
Looking for 2011 Topps Marquee Museum autographs, rare Frank Thomases and Grady Sizemores I don't have

Thankfully he is one Dodger I was able to get before they rose in cost. Seems it is getting next to0 impossible to keep up with new autographs. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE is the next _____ when it comes to sale prices! I just look at all the $1-2 autos from late 90s-late 2000s sets and have to remind myself that most of these guys will be $2 autos in 10 years as well. however, if you miss the next Kershaw type player, then you lose big!

Blow out an elbow ligament or be a AAAA pitcher like Ohtani and it could go south badly.

As a Dodgers fan, I'm hoping he's above-average at the MLB level.

Never. Invest. In. Pitchers. It rarely pans out. I'd sink that money in something more tangible. Like more queso dip.

2018 will be a primer to a potential 2019 breakout season.

They'll be limiting him to roughly 140 IP (if he even pitches that much), this being his 2nd year back from TJ surgery. No spot in the roster to start the season but he's first in line and will certainly get his chance....Dodgers have averaged what, like 13 starters a season for the last 5 years?

Anyway, it's just a guess. And it's pretty much a guessing game when it comes to pitching prospects.
Look, I'm gonna be honest with you. I really need a job. And I will take any position, as long as it doesn't involve having sex with old ladies for money or bear traps. Those are my two bugaboos. While mulling over my resume feel free to check out my baseball card collection, it's small and simple, kinda like me - >>>>> http://s822.photobucket.com/user/JDf...ds%20n%20stuff

He seems like a nice bet to rise if he's healthy but there are better pitching prospects in the minors...at better price points IMO.

Hey, I sold that card to you, so more than likely he'll explode and that'll be a $200 card by the all-star break, lol!!
I will pay a handsome reward for a 2002 BCDP BGS 9.5 Mark Schramek Auto. 2 copies exist, and I need one of them!!

I wouldn't bank on a pitcher named Walker. Strikeout Buehler, maybe.
WTTF/WTB: Looking for Red Sox cards I don't have of players from modern Bowman products. Always open to trade!
