He did win the pitching Triple Crown one year, but without looking at his stats I don’t really think there’s an argument for him.

Why would anyone other than a Padres fanboy think Peavy is a serious candidate?

He received Cy Young votes in only ONE season in his entire career. Think about that.

Peavy will get his mandatory place on the HOF ballot because he played ten years, but then he'll get nowhere close to 5% of the vote to stay on.

I liked Peavy and think he was a good to outstanding pitcher some years, obviously including his Triple Crown season. But only San Diego homers and talk show hosts who want to drum up conversation pretend to think he'll make it past the first ballot.

You guys serious? Yes he totally belongs in the hall, as long as he pays his admission.

If Curt Schilling can't get into the HOF then Jake Peavy isn't worthy of breaking 5%
Look, I'm gonna be honest with you. I really need a job. And I will take any position, as long as it doesn't involve having sex with old ladies for money or bear traps. Those are my two bugaboos. While mulling over my resume feel free to check out my baseball card collection, it's small and simple, kinda like me - >>>>> http://s822.photobucket.com/user/JDf...ds%20n%20stuff

I think the clear overwhelming odds are he doesn't see significant playing time (or any playing time) again, from my judgment if you look at it from a numbers standpoint he doesn't come close, and for the more old fashioned folks who judge someone's HOF worthiness by dominance during a particular time period he's even further from the conversation. I personally think literally dozens of pitchers from the 80s, and before, to the present deserve HOF recognition before Peavy is even mentioned. Look at Jack Morris' journey to finally breaking through and compare him on any level to Peavy...am I missing something?
You going to disclose the context of this "discussion"?

You've been criticizing me for about a year for collecting Jake Peavy. I'm not even a player collector, just been trying to get all 25 of his 2008 BC Orange Refractors. Started fast with 3 in the first month, just 3 since, including one from a member here.

I don't spend much on cards, mostly due to having 4 teen kids and wanting them to have the "goodies" most kids want nowadays. And college.

So, anyway, in the midst of our political discussion/arguing, homer has taken to insulting my collection and it's lack of monetary value. And to a lesser extent, phillyfan0417 and his collection.

Since he collects HOFers, I wondered what would happen to him if somehow Peavy made it to Cooperstown. I even stated "Granted, it is highly unlikely."

All of this in the "Trump Presidency" thread of the Anything Goes forum if you want to check.

You started this thread to take a shot at someone else’s collection? Pathetic...

I don't agree that Jake Peavy is a HOFer, or anywhere in that category, and that's that.

FYI there are also plenty of players not in the HOF who are worth substantially more than ones who are...so nothing you said seemed to be thought out.
Are you on something? Where did you get all that from what I said? When did I mention prospect collectors or HOF collectors or anything? When did I reference who’s worth what?

Dude never said Peavy was HOF worthy, you are just trying to stir up $hit. Mods, better move this thread to the anything goes forum...maybe even hall of shame...
