The Rays beat the Yankees again yesterday. I was looking at some of the players stats.
Giancarlo Stanton will make $25 million this year an CJ Cron will make $2.3 million. Stanton will make $22.7 million more than Cron.
Soooo what has that extra $22.7 million more got for the Yankees so far this year?
3 homers and 9 RBI's. Wow what a deal.

Another thought. After Alex Bregman was called out for fan interference yesterday. He blasts the umpires for a bad call dropping f-bomb after f-bomb. It was the right call Alex!

After reading this I now think this person is very conceited and arrogant. By the way he carries himself lately, I can't stand him.

Yeah, but how many people are going to the ballpark just to see CJ Cron? How much merchandise is CJ Cron selling? How much concessions are being sold just because of the people who came to see CJ Cron?

They Yankees might not be making 22.7 million off all these things because they have Stanton, but they’re making waaaaay more off these things because they have Stanton than the Rays are because they have CJ Cron.

Alex is from the 505 and he doesn't go off the rails very often that I've seen. I'll call it passion for the game.

As for Yankees, it's the yankees! They aren't exactly built for efficient spending so who cares if they waste money on one (or 25) active roster players! ;)

Rockies game - I'm more angered with the dugout play than the fan interference play. There doesn't seem to be a dugout rule in the books for a play like the Nolan Arenado play. It would be nice if the umps awarded Blackmon home just for the fact if Davis' teammates did not shove him back onto the field as he was falling into the dugout, Davis would be on his back in the dugout while at least Blackmon scored, or Davis would have had to run up the dugout steps back onto the field to make a throw and likely not be able to get Blackmon at home.

Nailed it. The premium for Stanton, and those like him, is for the extra revenue, maybe he is only worth an extra win or two per year but the amount of money he brings in is exponentially higher than most.
Someone tell the Eggheads in the lab to figure our the equation for RAR...revenue above replacement.

This is why Jordan was worth $25 million a year back in a day but people still *****ed about it.

Aaron Judge is only making $622,000 this season. Everyone else making more money with inferior stats is a ripoff!

Your argument can be made with anyone with a high salary. There will always be a younger star making a small salary or a low-paid veteran having a breakout season.

And as everyone else wrote, it's about ticket and merchandise revenue as much as stats.

" it's about ticket and merchandise revenue " We are talking about the Yankees, they sell tickets and merchandise no matter.

I'm shocked the Yankees went gimmicky this year. I saw a few moments of the SNB broadcast this week and there was a momentary shot of the Yankees gimmick, Judge's Chambers. Looks like they made it fancy and probably upgraded the ticket price to that area over what that section would normally cost instead of just being a section where fans informally put on judges robes and called it judge's chambers.
