    Griffey, Henderson and Sandberg

    Information

This 18-card standard-size set was produced by Score for Proctor and Gamble as a mail-in premium and contains 18 players from the 1992 All-Star Game line-up. The production run comprised 2,000,000 sets and 25 uncut sheets. A three-card sample set was also produced for sales representatives with a print run of 5,000,000 sets and 25 uncut sheets. The three sample cards, featuring Griffey, Sandberg, and Henderson, are stamped "sample" on the back. Collectors could obtain the set by sending in a required certificate, 99 cents, three UPC symbols from three different Proctor and Gamble products, and 50 cents for postage and handling. The certificate was published in a flyer inserted in Sunday, August 16 newspapers. The card fronts feature color action player cutouts superimposed on a diagonally striped background showing a large star behind the player. Card numbers 1-9 have a blue star on a graded magenta background, while card numbers 10-18 show a red star on blue-green. The backs display a close-up photo, biographical and statistical information, and career summary on a graded yellow-orange background. The cards are numbered "X/18" at the lower right corner

Thanks for the info! I've known about these cards since 1992 and never had any idea there were promos.

Do you know if these were commercially released or just a promo/test issue? I've had this JD Drew for a few years and haven't been able to find much information on them.

I know the Bonds I have was sent without packaging because I would have put it out for sale if it was sealed.

Picked up these two promos as part of a lot. The Extra Bases Preview is in pretty rough shape, but the price was right in my mind and I was just happy to add one.

Collector of Kirby Puckett cards (1,900+ different, primary focus on Pre-1999 cards), Benj Sampson, Scott Stahoviak, Billy Beane, Al Newman, and Metrodome game/stadium used artifacts.

I bought a set of the extras bases promos directly from a fleer exec many years back and mine came that way on most of the cards. They were stuck together for a long time presumably and lost some surface paper when they were pulled apart. That quite possibly could have been the Puckett from my set…if I remember correctly, that one sold very well for me at the time.

Not sure, other than my guess is they were for approval etc. I've seen the Clark before. If I had to guess I'd say 1-2 of each...???

I have one of the Clark's. It's a so so card to me. I think there was some speculation they weren't even real, but I got 1 of the Clark's fairly cheap, so I took a gamble on it. I definitely haven't seen multiples surface.

I have the Puckett. I remember the same speculation of their authenticity when they surfaced as well. Here's mine:
