I'll share this in this thread. I figure it qualifies, as the thread didn't say cards only.

Happened upon some old Brooklyn Dodger contracts at auction. I was much more excited for the non-player signatures, especially Dodgers Owner & two time President Stephen McKeever. Bonus sig was NL President at the time, also a two time President, John Heydler. Lu Blue was the one I wanted the most and paid a pretty sum, but ended up with it.

I love that set so it's an amazing gift, but it's an even better story.

Picked up my first ever Venezuelans. All 3 have paper loss on the back, but the fronts look pretty good and they display well.

I had a chance to pick up this King Carl at an incredible price. Due to the price it went for I thought for sure it will be beat up and nearly destroyed when I received it but that was not the case. It matches up on size, has no creases and smells like an old card should. That's two of the hall of famers in this set....looks like I should just go for the whole thing and copy someone else on this thread! :)

Looks like I have caught the Diamond Stars bug.

a few recent pick ups.

Legendary Yankees third baseman Red Rolfe. He played with Ruth, Gehrig and the rest of Murderers row from 1931 to 1942 after graduating from Yale. HE would go on to become a Major League manager and a front office executive before returning to the Ivy League as the Athletic Director of Dartmouth.

Hall of Fame catcher Al Lopez, who played for several Big League teams before finding his niche as a Major League manager most notably with the Indians and the Go Go White Sox of the 50's. The card may have a pinhole at the top but that just shows me some kid from the 30's put this card up on his wall and enjoyed it as much as I plan on doing. The pinhole gives this card character.

It's been quite some time since I posted here, so I thought I'd post some recent pickups.

I had a fantastic time in Cleveland. Picked up a lot of great stuff. Hit many sets, finished off several 70's basketball Trail Blazers sets, finished an OPC Dodger team set, plus many others. I also brought home two targeted cards.

First, my 4th Brooklyn Superbas Cracker Jack:

And second, my first T202 Hassan Triple Folder:

I also started my first non-sport set, 1956 Topps Flags of the World. I came home with three of the 80 needed, and then found a decent deal for 75/80 on eBay:

Last, but certainly not least, today's mail brought a gift from one of my OBC brethren, the last four cards needed to finish my 1953 Bowman Color set - including Yogi Berra! YES! The '53 Color is easily my favorite postwar set.

Great pickups and congrats on your set completion!!!! Be careful, those T202 cards can be addictive!
