$83 is a little ridiculous for that card. Ryan, if you sell, I'll be a buyer too. But you gotta keep the 24/#s. Its your thang. But, there's probably no better time to sell than now on ebay. Some of these prices have been absolutely off the charts redonkulous. And that stuff you have would fetch top dollar. Even if they go to evil non-Rickey collectors. :evil:

On a different topic, I was looking at my 1999s (why? I have no idea...probably because I just picked up a sweet 99 Pacific Platinum Blue #312 from Ken and wanted to see how I was doing against my Bucket List, uh I mean my Beckett list). If I ever see another one, you'll be the first to know! Now I almost feel obligated to find one for you, lol! Not sure why the seller would refuse to ship the card? May he thought it sold too cheaply, and wanted to try again later? Whatever the reason, it's pretty odd!

Yeah it was quite odd. He shipped it (lol), it never arrived. 2 weeks later he emails me off Ebay saying he has acquired another one at a card show, and he'd sell it to me at the same price. Now I was figuring he mailed it wrong and it was delivered back to him, maybe he was embarrassed. So I again paid for it, and he shipped it (lol) and that one never arrived. I contacted him to thank him for selling the card for a 3rd time, he says he got it on CheckOutMyCards, which is another lie. He didn't remember the lie about the card show he picked it up from, and then he decided to start making threats. He will ban me from Ebay, and if I ever go to Missouri, he will "drop" me. This guy is a real treat. At least I got my money back after Paypal sided with me on the claim. Delivery confirmation would have saved him and me from going through all this B.S.

Like a relapsing addict, I have failed in my sobriety. After a few weeks of watching, I purchased some 2011 Henderson cards.

I have finally caved to this guy :twisted: and could use one of these :grouphug: TO ALL CARD COMPANIES, PLEASE STOP MAKING HENDERSON CARDS FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS.

Yeah unfortunately this is an all to common event on ebay. DC should be standard practice with sellers by now its only $0.20 when shipping via Paypal :?

These Desert Shield cards used to be in the hundreds of dollars even for common cards! I think I paid about twenty for each of mine, but was so tempted to buy it a few years earlier for so much more! When I saw my first one, the offered me half off the marked price, so I only had to pony up $300! I am glad I turned him down. Rickey wasn't even the highest priced one by far! Ripken was like $1000 or some such ridiculous price! :shock:

Take a good look now, because after being on display in Cooperstown, those shoes will be chopped up and included in the 2017 Topps "Record Breaking Relics" series. The cards will feature the same Rickey picture that they've been using 8 years in a row on their Triple Threads cards, or maybe we'll get one of him batting lefty, or perhaps sliding head-first into first base (or some other strange photo). They will each be serial nubmered 1 of 1 (each made different somehow by some slight variation)...because that's how they drive up prices. Also included in the series will be Cal Ripken's jockstrap from the night he broke Lou Gehrigs's streak, Barry Bonds needle swatches from his 73 home run season (some with actual dried-up steroids on the tip), pitching rubber chunks from Bobby Thigpen's 57 save season (and no one will care), and bat swatches from Fernando Tatis for the night he hit two grand slams in one inning to set all kinds of records (rumor has it that Topps was able to acquire this bat from Tatis for a sum of $3.00, a pack of Twinkies, a bottle of cheap rum, and a "Rolex" bought off of a NYC street vendor). ......And I will pay big bucks for a chunk of those Rickey metal cleat spikes. I'm starting to stash the cash now for when that occurs.

You know I'd be interested in buying, but if you really are selling, this is amazingly a very hot time to be selling Rickeys on ebay. Your best $$ draw will come if you put them up for auction because there's been some sick, sick buying prices going on. If you wanted to keep it in the "Rickey Collector" family....then well, maybe you'd give us first stab at some of those. You know I'd be interested in buying, but if you really are selling, this is amazingly a very hot time to be selling Rickeys on ebay. Your best $$ draw will come if you put them up for auction because there's been some sick, sick buying prices going on. If you wanted to keep it in the "Rickey Collector" family....then well, maybe you'd give us first stab at some of those. I know Rickey has been on fire on Ebay all of a sudden, really out of no where! These cards are in my PC, but you know all things are FS for the right price. I really want to finish my through 97 collection, that's where my heart and soul is.

If I ever see another one, you'll be the first to know! Now I almost feel obligated to find one for you, lol! Not sure why the seller would refuse to ship the card? May he thought it sold too cheaply, and wanted to try again later? Whatever the reason, it's pretty odd!

Yeah it was quite odd. He shipped it (lol), it never arrived. 2 weeks later he emails me off Ebay saying he has acquired another one at a card show, and he'd sell it to me at the same price. Now I was figuring he mailed it wrong and it was delivered back to him, maybe he was embarrassed. So I again paid for it, and he shipped it (lol) and that one never arrived. I contacted him to thank him for selling the card for a 3rd time, he says he got it on CheckOutMyCards, which is another lie. He didn't remember the lie about the card show he picked it up from, and then he decided to start making threats. He will ban me from Ebay, and if I ever go to Missouri, he will "drop" me. This guy is a real treat. At least I got my money back after Paypal sided with me on the claim. Delivery confirmation would have saved him and me from going through all this B.S.

You need to forward that thread (i.e., "Drop you") to E-Bay's Safe Harbor so they will Drop him from E-Bay.

I did report him, and they issued him a warning. Seems like he is a powerseller, and they don't want to lose his business. Ebay would drop me in a second, but someone who gives them money weekly, well they get the hallpass.
