So nobody has all three versions of the 99 topps finest peel and reveal?

Peel & Reveal: This insert is very similar to the Mystery Finest sets found in basic Topps and other Topps Finest issues. You received a card covered by a black sheet that you had to peel off. It was a little remeniscent of Fleer Mystique except these were WAY harder to peel off. There were 3 versions of this insert. The most common, the one that I got, was called Sparkle (use your imagination). It was of Roger Clemens. The Sparkle cards come roughly 1 per box. The second parallel is called Hyperplaid and is a little harder to find. These have the perpendicular lines on them that Atomic Refractors do. These fall roughly 1 in every 2.5 boxes. The final parallel, and the most rare, is called Stadium Stars. I’m not even sure what these look like to be honest, but they are found roughly 1 in every 5 boxes or so. There are 20 total players in this set.

So they really don't have much in the way of background. Just more of a refractor finish like was mentioned earlier...

I've looked at some examples on eBay but just wanted to know as much as I could so I can label mine accordingly.

You label your cards?

Depends. I may write on the team bag or toploader which version a particular card is if there is a crapload of different versions. There has been a few times where I was giving some doubles away and damn near gave away samples or promo versions or variations because in some cases, they look exactly alike.

Plus, when I do pass on, I don't want my family to be ripped off. They have specific instructions of what to do with my cards and this way, with them being somewhat labeled, they know exactly what the card is.

There was a guy on eBay selling proofs of the peel & reveal. He had a few different ones but one type he was selling was a plain refractor like finish (not pack issued). Just in case you super collectors want to go after those too.

Also here's one that still has the peel (at least on the back, I don't know if they had it on the front too).

Edit: Also be aware that the finish is sometimes removed when peeled.

Did anyone see the 60 or so Flair Legacys put up on COMC last night? Most 99's, a few 98's and 97's, commons and minor stars, all $5.99. Got to knock a half-dozen of these off my wantlist:

The 1998 Palmer is a real one, which is nice; there are two sellers with a ton of Legacys, all which are backdoored (no foil name stamp on back).

I saw them, but none were my guys. Glad you got them! Was hoping someone in this thread saw them.

Since the set first came out. Some of the cards have been surprisingly cheap to pick up, but most of the players I have left have some hard core player collectors chasing them.

I've also picked 3 of the Mirror Proof 1/1s.
