WTF?Why can't I add attachments all of a sudden?Option not available when I post.That's a shame, I had some nice stuff from a game I went to recently.Can you hit the "Img" icon and then add attachment?In a separate thread I started I still have the ability to add attachments, but now I can't here.That's messed up.

Got some Cards stuff back in from a BGS submission...pretty happy, but had a Zack Cox Refractor Auto that the case got chipped on, so it's going back to Beckett. Here are the results.

Just got back from the National in Chicago. Pretty overwhelming experience. I only went for one day, so I had to cram it all in to one day. I didn't get to dig in to a bunch of boxes to search for hidden gems, just no time for it. So I went in determined to come home with 3 cards. 48 Musial PSA 4 or better, 65 Steve Carlton PSA 6 or better, and a Shelby Miller Blue Refractor Auto.
I only saw 3 Shelby Miller Chrome Auto's period, no one was selling him. I asked every dealer who had any chrome out. So, Strike 1!
I found a few Carlton PSA 6's, and lots of 8's. The 8's tend to go for $275 or more, so they were out. No one was willing to come down to ebay levels on their 6's so I struck out again. Strike 2!
Last was the Musial. I found 3 PSA 4's, and one seller who was willing to deal. I was able to pick it up, will eventually replace it with a higher grade or a better centered 4. But I feel like I knocked this one out of the park!


So, I didn't strike out completely!

I only grabbed one other card at the show, also a Musial; and one I've wanted to pick up for a while.


Then on the way home stopped and a flea market and found this bad boy in a case. 04 Topps Chrome Red Xfractor /63

Jeez, I love all of your pickups. Never seen that Musial Auto before, that's like 2000 SP SE, right?

Went to Fenway Park to see a couple games last week and met John Smoltz at a gas station across the street. Smoltz played for the Cardinals for half of 2009 and had some nice highlights with the team, so I figured I could post this in this thread haha. I caught him right before he got into his cab, and he signed an autograph for my friend and me.

Got him on the sweetspot of an Official Major League Baseball in blue ink. Auto is flawless. Very nice guy!

cool on the smoltz. i was hoping they were gonna use him in '10 and beyond even. nothin can beat the experience of a guy like that even if he is sittin on the bench.
forgot to post this. does anyone know the actual story of the print run and redemption rate of this card?

Haul from Springfield Cardinals, was a blast except it was late as hell went I got home and had to get out of bed the next morning.Miracously, was only a hour late to the office the next day.Got to park couple hours early, brought Kraft wrapper and got free ticket for friend.Was going to go to Doe's, as rookieaddict mentioned in another thread, but parking attendant said it was high, so we decided to go to Ebbets Field a couple blocks away instead.Very nice setting, food was good, and very hot waitresses, probably Missouri St. students.We head back to the stadium, wait in line for half hour and chat with fan, said she got a gnome giveaway last time.Gate finally opens, heat wave is still brutal in Midwest, get Carlton bobblehead and head for seats.As we head to seats I notice Jones, who at one time was one of the better prospects in the organization, is signing.Of course, I had no idea before game anyone was signing, so didn't come prepared.Oh well, screw it, I'll have him sign my ticket.I go to another line where some other prospect I never heard of is signing, but fan I spoke to in line before game tells me Miller is signing in another line, so I head there and have my buddy buy a team set.Wait in line for probably 20 minutes, barely moving.How disappointing.So line is cut off, oh well.Sit right behind home plate maybe 8-9 rows up.Don't notice until 3rd inning, but sitting right in front of half dozen scouts.I chat with Rays scout right behind me, said he scouted Nieman, Longoria, Zobrist, Price, Pena, Hellickson, etc.Later in game Kelly consistanly throws in mid 90s, but is wild and Arkansas takes lead.But then Adams hits a bomb, Jackson makes a very nice relay throw to cut down a run, and Springfield bullpen stabilzes and preserves 7-5 win.Fun times.

Nice work! sorry I didn't let you know about the auto's ahead of time, you never know who it's going to be but usually have a player at each of the three gates. Glad you got in for the bobble head though!

Damn, that would have been nice to know.Do they do that before every Tuesday game?Wish they would have announced that.

Annoying part is, I don't come to prepared to Springfield game and players sign, yet I just went to a KC T-Bones game that I brought stuff for White to sign, and of course the damn line barely moves.This is getting agrevating as hell chasing signatures.
