How about he start getting some coverage. That's almost 4 shutouts.

As the closer, shouldn't this be expected?

Closers may have a SLIGHT advantage but throwing 33 consecutive scoreless innings, regardless of starter or reliever, is no small feat to scoff at.

Big Deal.
Sincerely,

Oh, not scoffing. It is an impressive feat. As impressive as the streaks rattled off by guys like Hershiser, Webb, Lee, Grienke, etc.? IMO, not quite. Again, though, nothing to sneeze at.

I just kid, it is impressive. A Starter gets in a routine and has to string together starts on 5-6 days rest. relievers/closers may pitch 5 days in a row if not more.
Still impressive, just a different type of impressive.

Very impressive, but not as good as if he was a starter. Starters have to face batters 3-4 times a game and after that 1st AB, batters have a slight advantage as they have seen the pitches before. Not the case with a closer who comes with only 1 inning, with a good chance that he isn't facing 3-4-5 everytime and he has a fresh arm. Nonetheless, it is a great feat.
