Took 300+ dups of #174 but finally found a reverse so officially have all of those in hand.

I'm also 300+ in on #656 and still no sightings of any of these variations:
comic, nhl, diamond

I'm anxious to find out if you spot #656 , or any card from #601-700 , that has a 90/91 NHL holo or diamond (92 MLB). That would basically confirm that #656 (and #626 Wes Chamberlain!) exist. I have a #626 Comic Ball holo, so I'm sure #656 is out there.

I'll keep you posted. I've got somewhere between 150-250 more coming in of 656, hopefully will find a few more variants.

I obsessively bought a bunch of #656s as well, and only ended up with regular ones and 1 1990 MLB hologram.

I love these hunts. Always cost me a fortune but totally worth it.

You search through a thousand, find nothing, then get that one lot from that one run that has 50 of the one you were looking for. Making it worthless again!

So I've personally opened packs that contained 1990 MLB, 90/91 NHL, 1990 Comic Ball, Reverse hologram, and stamped with no hologram cards. Has anyone opened a pack that contained a 1992 MLB hologram? I'm curious to know if it was found in the low series or high series packs. It makes sense that it'd be high series, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks for any help!

It's time to put my money where my mouth is. Here is what I'm willing to pay for #626 Wes Chamberlain hologram variations (yes, I'm serious): 1990 MLB hologram - $5 each, 1990 Comic Ball hologram - $50 each, 90/91 NHL hologram - $1000 (that's one thousand dollars), 1992 MLB hologram - $1000 (yes, also one thousand dollars), reverse hologram - $5 each, missing hologram - $50 each, stamped missing hologram - $50 each, double hologram - $100 each. I'm also willing to work trades if that works better for you. And I'd be willing to buy bulk regular hologram #626 Wes Chamberlain cards as well. I hope to hear from you soon!

I just checked, and I already have that Alomar variation. Dang.

But since we're on the topic, here's the variations I'm still looking for, all of which I believe exist (?). If anyone has any, I'd pay $15 for each one.

1991 #335 1992 Baseball hologram
1991 #335 1990-91 Hockey hologram
1991 #80 1990-91 Hockey hologram
1991 #80 1990 Baseball hologram
1991 #80 1992 Baseball hologram
1991 #80 1990 Comic Ball hologram
1991 #763 1990 Baseball hologram
1991 #763 1990-91 Hockey hologram
1991 #83F - any hologram variations (not sure what exists)

1993 #42 - 1992 Baseball hologram
1993 #815 - 1992 Baseball hologram
1993 #840 - 1992 Baseball hologram

1994 #455 - 1993 Baseball hologram

1991 UD Variations for trade/sale
I have McGwire, Bonds, Ripken, Ozzie Smith (probably gone by the time you read this), Roberto Alomar, on that list now. I need to add Randy Johnson Comic ball and a Eric Davis Hockey I need to add.

TCDB is listing the variations now

I have 2 alomar’s but I think they are both 1990 holo. I’ll check though. I’m on the hunt for these, so I’ll probably come up with some more soon. Ran out of time today only made it through 2/5 of their 5000 ct boxes. Planning on going back sometime soon. It’s a couple hours away, but it will drive me crazy wondering what others are there. Got 120 or so today. Apparently I need to check other years too. Probably more Ozzie’s out there I gotta find. How many years have people found these variations on?

Thanks a lot - if you find any on my list let me know. And that list I posted above is a pretty complete list of holo variations, as far as I know. 4 variations for 1991, one for 1993, and one for 1994. Now I'm not sure all cards from those years have all of those variations, but I know at least some exist. Oddly enough I haven't come across any reference of holo variations on 1992 UD cards.

Don't forget about all the Heroes subsets and their autograph versions. The non-auto Nolan Ryan and Hank Aaron Heroes have the silver home plate holos (as pictured above in post #18). The official autographed versions of those cards have a silver diamond holo (more like a square with the corners pointed up, down, left, and right).

Then there's the non-auto Ted Williams Heroes with silver baseball diamond shaped holos. The auto versions of those have silver diamonds (again, more like a square standing on one of its corners).

At some point UD switched to gold holos for auto cards. It would be interesting to see if any of the Heroes autos have gold holos, or if ANY of the Heroes (auto or non-auto) have the mentioned variations within them. I would assume they do, unless they printed/produced the Heroes cards completely separate from that regular sets. (Which reminds me, the Final set was definitely produced separate from the regular set, so I wonder if the variations exist in the Final set, as well.)

Great thread! I love these trading card "investigations".

Great thread, I found a 92 and Hockey holo years ago and forgot about these holo variations. I never knew others existed.
I would be interested in a Dale Murphy #447 in the
1990 Hologram version
Comic Ball version
1991 Reverse hologram
If anyone has one for sale
Thanks, Michael
