How long, as a seller, do you honor a quoted price / agreed upon deal? I have an issue on another board and I wanted to get opinions in regards to it.
Bottom line is that I made an agreement with someone to sell them a specific card for a specific price. The final message this last Monday was me agreeing to sell the specific card he wanted at an agreed upon price and me sending him my Paypal information in order for him to make the payment. I didn't hear back from him until Friday evening - in that message he apologized for "dragging" his feet and wanted to know if I still have the card.
Between Monday and Friday the card went up ~$75 from the price I was charging him based on multiple auctions that ended during that time - I believe this may have been a motivator for him trying to re-engage on the deal as most of the auctions didn't end until late in the week. My standard policy is to wait 72 hours for payment and unless other arrangements are made prior, that the deal is no longer valid.
As of Thursday night, I began to entertain other trade/sale offers on the same card.
Do you believe that I am in the right and that I no longer have an obligation to sell the card at the previously agreed upon price to that member or do you believe that I should still honor that deal?
Thanks.
