The **** Giants defeated the Pirates in the first postseason game of the 1971 season

btw, your link isn't very complete - it only shows regular season games. I researched my answer recently using a site with more complete game info.

Home runs by Killebrew, Stargell, and Mazeroski

Koufax, Roberts, and Marichal all lost.

Bob Uecker hit two doubles off Koufax and Brock had three stolen bases off him.

Star of the day was The Toy Cannon, Jimmy Wynn, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, 4 rbis, and a stolen base.

If someone wants to reaserch November 3 '01

Sent from my F5121 using Freedom Card Board mobile app

One of the sweetest days in the history of the world as the World Champion Dbacks creamed the Yankees in the 2001 WS Game 6 and
then finished stabbing the Yankees in their black/white heart three days later.

World Series Game 6 Played on Saturday, November 3, 2001 (N) at Bank One Ballpark

NY A 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 - 2 7 1
ARI N 1 3 8 3 0 0 0 0 x - 15 22 0

WP: Johnson (2-0)
LP: Pettitte (0-2)

Yankees beat the Red Sox 7-4 at Yankee Stadium. Yogi Berra hit a 3 run homer for his 23rd of the season. Ted Williams hit a pinch hit home run in the 9th inning for his 35th bomb of the year. Whitey Ford was the winning pitcher and dropped his ERA to 2.47.

And the Phillies beat Brooklyn 3-2 that day!:p

I'm a late November baby so maybe the mid '70s Yanks were thinking about growing some badass moustaches or maybe Billy Martin was thinking about what he would say to Reggie if he ever signed with the Yanks.

I knew this without looking it up. My mother was in labor, and made pasta and sauce to last the next few days, then drove herself to the airport while Luis Tiant won game one of the 1975 World Series on 10/11/1975. I was technically born on 10/12/1975 and the Red Sox lost game 2 of the World Series. I have the newspaper from 10/12/1975 and it has a photo of Luis Tiant smoking a big Cuban cigar on the front page. I've met him a few times, and every time he was great, one of my all time favorites.

FYI: My mother and I are both Yankees fans, my father is a Red Sox fan. I got my brains from my mom.

A few notables hit home runs on my birthday in the summer of 1970. Hank Aaron hit 2 in a win over the Cardinals. Bobby Bonds hit 2 HR as well while playing CF for the Giants (Mays played 1B). And Mickey Stanley hit 2 HR in a Tigers win. Also hitting HRs were Billy Williams, Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva.

The biggest oddity I saw was the Cubs stole 6 bases against the Astros with Ron Santo and Billy Williams both stealing 2. Given the season and career total stolen bases for these two HOFers, I'd have to assume that the Astros pitchers really struggled to hold runners on or their catcher couldn't through worth a darn. Santo only had 35 career SB and these were only ones for Santo in 1970. Williams had 7 in 1970 and 90 for his career.

By my count, 22 different players hit a HR the day I was born: Eddie Murray, Larry Parrish, Doug DeCinces, Lou Whitaker, Larry Herndon, Darrell Evans, Robin Yount, Dave Winfield, Gary Roenicke, Ken Griffey, Don Mattingly, Wayne Krenchicki, Hubie Brooks, Tim Raines, Kevin McReynolds, Glenn Wilson, Von Hayes, Darren Daulton, Robby Thompson, Joe Carter, Cliff Johnson and Jesse Barfield.

Also, some scrub named Fred McGriff made his MLB debut.

Good point. Post-season counts. Do you have a link?
