Did '98 have 3 1/1's like '97 and '99? Beckett only list 1 1/1 that year.

yes i believe there is a 1/1 for each row. in 1998 there were Row 0, 1, 2 and 3, so there should be four 1/1's. not including anything that made it out to the markets after the fact.

unless my eyes betray me, the bottom row and the 4th from the bottom are exactly the same. the bottom row is upside down, but it looks like a mirror image of the row that is 4th from bottom. the Pedro Martinez is the 2nd card from the edge in the lower left (looking at pic #1 )

in fact, after turning my laptop upside down multiple times, the bottom 3 rows all look to me like duplicates of the rows above them rows 4-6, counting from the top). they are also the rows that the seller calls out as not having names printed on the back.

thoughts? am i blind?

Yes ,from the top, row 4 = row 7
Row 5 = row 8 and row 6 = row 9

interesting. I wonder why they would make a sheet with multiple of the same player. at most you would make 2 copies of any card, one to be packed out, and an extra in case it was damaged and a customer asked for a replacement. Weird that there are two Pedro Martinez Row 3 cards.

i would totally be interested in picking these up if they were to be made available for sale, but wouldn't pay as much as the normal 1 of 1's.

I am lucky enough to own a stamped 1 of 1 98 Row 0 and Row 1 Pedro Martinez, and a stamped 1 of 1 1998 Row 0 and Row 3. where the stamping looks legit. and i was pleasantly relieved to not see either of those cards in this sheet :)
Guess I need my eyes checked.....my bad

You have the redemption, you still need:

I probably have one around here somewhere. If I lay my hands on it, I'll send it to you. Otherwise, I'll keep my eyes pealed.

I'm not sure if Jim Thome collectors are still in a feeding frenzy but I picked up this 1998 Topps Gold Label Red #100 /100 for what I thought was a decent price. The numbering was a nice bonus too.
