I love baseball and thrifting and when the two meet, it is oh so sweet. I will use this thread to share all of my baseball treasures found at the local thrift stores. I am a Yankees fan, but any team is fair game when it comes to thrifting.

I found these at a local Goodwill.

First up, is a Bowling Green Hot Rods jersey. They are the Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It isn't a full button-down, but it is still cool, plus it still has the tags on it. This is definitely going in the collection.

Price-$3.00

Second, is a blank back Cubs jersey and what do you know, it still has the tags on it. I am probably going to try to sell this one at the local card show.

Price-$3.00

Here are some of my previous finds. I can't remember the exact prices, but these all came in under $5.00 a piece?

First up, a Cincinnati Reds blank back jersey. It doesn't have the tags, but it looks brand new. It is one of my card show sellers.

Price-$3.00 (Goodwill)

I thought this was pretty awesome. It is a Franklin Big League Baseball Electronic Encyclopedia (Collectors First Edition), from 1992. You can get all of your stats before steroids became so prevalent. It was still sealed. I had to open and play with it though. It is one of my card show sellers.

Last but not least, is a Wil Myers 2013 American League Rookie Of The Year Bobblehead. I don't know if I am going to keep it or sell it. I am kind of leaning towards starting a bobblehead collection.

Thanks. I think, aside from the Hot Rods jersey, that the other two are youth XLs, so a smaller market. No pun intended. I will be sure to check out that thread.

I'll move this thread to the baseball forum, will get more views there.

Nice stuff!

VERY hard to find current jerseys at any of the places around here...

Also, there is a Rolling thrift store pick-up thread that you can list in.

PM sent.

What size is the Cub jersey? How much do you want for it?

Pretty cool. I noticed those while skimming through the last few pages of the thread that I was referred to.
Yeah that is the thread that really got me into thrifting. I go to yard sales every weekend. Some of the guys on there kick butt. If you have time to go through some of the 100 + pages.
Rum is the king of thrift and Astroburn is a pretty cool guy too. Lots of good people willing to help others out to learn stuff. It's fun and if you know your stuff you can make some decent money.
Here are my totals so far: Paid Paypal Rec eBay fees USPS Profit

TOTALS sales - 51 items sold $ 141.64 $ 1,509.62 $ 145.20 $ 262.06 $ 960.72

I love profit. There is a lot of money to be made out there. I think I saw a couple Rum and Astroburn posts, where they were flipping $1.00 items for over $250.00. I haven't stumbled across anything that valuable at this present time. I was introduced to thrifting by a show on SPIKE TV called Thrift Hunters. You can learn a lot on there, although I am sure some of it is staged (reality television). This will really be my first yard sale season. Up until now, it has just been the thrift stores, but I do look out for more than just sports stuff. My brother is big into toys, so I have some education to go off of there.

I watch that show and some others to learn more. I collect toys as well and Rum kicks butt with toys. The first thing I learned was buy anything old if it comes with an original box and is cheap. I just sold an item I paid 50 cents for $102.50! I buy lots of glass stuff and some Asian stuff if I find it cheap enough. Here are some recent toys:

I am hoarding my toy/video game finds, so I can rent a case at the local Antique & Toy Mall. I don't really do the online selling thing and the rent is reasonable, so I figure why not. You get to keep your stuff on display, behind lock and key (glass case), and you don't have to pay shipping.
