I think the Legacy /100s that went off yesterday go to show you how very difficult it can be to obtain a /100 card ... when it is 30 years old!....Errrr.....20 years old. (Thanks Ryan.)

Yea, tell me about it. I didn't even come close to winning.

I would be interested to know if anyone one here was runner up or 3rd place bidder on the Legacy cards & got a 2nd Chance Offer, as this is the same seller who had the '97 EX Essential cards a few weeks back & there was questionable bidding on those. Someone on here a few pages back admitted they got 2CO's after coming in 2nd & 3rd on those cards. On the Hasegawa $500 auction the winner, that won most of them, bid% is 98%, 2nd place was 81%, 3rd 100%, 4th 83%. I know it's a set & people could be bidding on many/most of them.

The difference in prices between a 1997 Legacy row 0 and a 1998 Legacy row 0 are staggering. A 1997 Larkin just went for $350 and I picked up a 1998 the same day for only $25.

...even the 1997 Legacys Row 1 & 2 seem to go for 4x times as much as any 1998 and 1999 Legacy.

Just think that's interesting. Could be because 1997 is the inaugural year for Legacy. And many of the 1998s were backdoored.

I wouldn't be too surprised something was fishy about that auction and the '97 EX Essential cards. I have a hard time believing that basically one guy was willing to throw down over a thousand dollars for these cards. But who knows, deep pockets I guess. Unfortunately I could suckered into overpaying for a '97 EX Essential and for one of the '97 Legacy Row 1s. But then again maybe the going rate for rare 90s insert has gone up.

I mean these are some big time prices: https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_armrs=1&_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_nkw=flair+legacy&_ssn=jasports2013&_sop=3

A little celebrated set, but '90s nonetheless. This sat at Burbank for nearly 18 months before they started taking offers...couldn't say no to the breather hole anymore.
