not as much but maybe because 98 TEK collectors like me did not want to get trapped committing the time and $$$ with a yet another huge set

I would like a 1998 Topps TEK pattern # 1 diffractor of Mr. Justice... I have 13 Pattern # 1 diffractors so far.

1998 Topps TEK Bonds cards seem to be able to be picked up very cheaply these days, way below High Beckett, who oddly has not dropped Bonds cards prices to reflect their true demand.

Same with the 98 TEKs . The prices go real high for a few players like Jeter, Juan Gonzalez, yet some guys list the $5-$ 6 Diffractor cards on ebay for $ $20 and they never sell. It appears you can buy the common diffractors for around $ 4 .

I like the 1998 Topps TEKs and am glad people on this board try to prop the values up . One day this decade I hope that rinkrat gets all 8100 diffractors. Richard is driven and we have traded many many times so I hope he does what I think is impossible... ONE full set of all 8100 1998 TEk diffractors

Willing buyer + willing seller = Market price

Big mouth + off-topic banter intended to antagonize board member + spamming that belongs in his baseball-transactions thread = annoying as ****

And on a side note I picked up a Barry Bonds Fleer Focus 2000 Masterpiece Mania card # 218 numbered to 300 for a 250 card Fleer Focus Mania set # 7 for $ 5.75 today. Bonds cards seem to be able to be picked up very cheaply these days, way below High Beckett, who oddly has not dropped Bonds cards prices to reflect their true demand. I think I paid too much for it but Beckett sticks with $25-30 for Bonds Manias while the last 4 Ive bought on ebay were between $4 and $ 5.75 each. Now why would someone get upset about that?

Same with the 98 TEKs . The prices go real high for a few players like Jeter, Juan Gonzalez, yet some guys list the $5-$ 6 Diffractor card on ebay for $ $20 and they never sell. It appear you can buy the commons around $ 4 can still buy them for $ 4.

So what more aggravating the same post over and over again day after day or someone expressing an opinion about value of cards.

Remember when Bonds rookies sold for a nice sum?

Im sure they did at one time. While building the master set I found the Bonds 98 TEKs pretty easy to pick up of a buck each on ebay. I mainly traded for cards on the boards with other collectors like Richard and many others and bought large lots online via ebay when shop owners and collectors were dumping inventory.

Why is it ok for some collectors on this board to say disparaging things about other collectors and its ok yet.. ah never mind. I remember why I left this board a year ago. Lots of bs but not particularly a lot of trading.

I will see if I can find you a Justice Diffractor to swap for your extra pattern # 1 this week.

Ive decided to go for a second Bonds 1998 TEK set but only under the condition that I can buy them for a buck each. Contact me via email or PM if you have some to part with for a buck each. Yes I know Im overpaying for them at a buck each but maybe one day all his steroid enhanced HR records will be recognized as valid.

So you wanna buy them for a buck each, but sell them for Beckett Hi BV? No wonder collectors say things about certain peoples collections...

Feel free to leave, most true collectors already have.

Buy what for a buck each? Diffractors? That would be nice but that does not happen. I have so many dupes (1400+ 1998 TEKs) Id rather trade.. If you paid any attention you have known I used to buy 98 TEKs for a buck for other collectors trying to help them with their sets or would trade my dupes to help them but quit doing that when so many would get back and tell me they forgot to update their lists. So other than 2 particular TEK collectors I deleted all the want lists from various other player collectors from my computer and a folder I had been keeping . Also some collectors think that just because they are fanboy of a particular player or team that it somehow entitles them to a discount on cards even cards 15 years old (and older).. well..I dont see it that way. If I want something bad enough to finish up a set I just pay up and dont whine too much about it. St done moving on to next one (or not)

I don't need anymore 98 Topps TEKs and havent so for 8 years except of the Pattern 1s and the Same Card# pattern # 98 TEK that I still collect (Hoard) plus around 35 condition upgrades on my want list that I would like in near mint condition with no scratches, water marks, peeled ovals or Misaligned ovals on the back. For me the Diffractors are too hard to find in quantity and too expensive. One day I will focus on my second 90 card diffractor set. The cards are very nice and seem to be getting more rare each month although Beckett does not seem to recognize that. That's why Richard having 1/3rd of them is so impressive to me. Someone having 3 regular sets of one player is not a big deal. I have two 90 card 98 TEK Biggio sets as I collected Astros (Same with Alou, D Bell, Bagwell) when doing the Master set

A true collector is a very subjective term and subject to the popularity of a given player at a given point in time.

I don't know where you guys find all of these diffractors and regular base Teks even. I have collected Larkin for almost 15 years and still need about 20 different patterns just to complete the base 90 cards set of Larkin. If not for Togaman, I would need a lot more even. I still only have 3 diffractors, with 2 coming from Richard. If anyone comes across any Larkin diffractors for sale, I will buy them in quantity for $30/piece. Anyone completing a base set of 90 patterns is impressive to me, and a diffractor set is just ridiculous. Good luck with the search - Richard's and Togaman's collections are insane!

Send me your Larkin want List via email and I will print it out and keep an eye out for you. You have been one of the easiest people to deal with on this particular board and I will help you if I can This Barry.. Barry Larkin... was a credit to baseball . Carl T.

I promise I will not try to pick the cards up, flaunt them in your face that I have them, and then try to sell them on ebay for 5x+ high Beckett like a few of these people do on this board for jollies. I can make you aware of where some are if I come across some I know you need for your Larkin set. You have two more Larkin diffractors than I do as I have one in my ONE completed 1998 TEK diffractor set. Thats its . One. Tough to find.
