End of the year pick-ups 12/22-12/31

Let's see what people are picking up to end the year.

I've mentioned I think that Pujol's prices have dropped way too low. With 500 homers around the corner and a first ballot resume I've been picking and choosing amongst his RC Auto's as they hit eBay. Listing did not mentioned it, but these were /100 (of the 625 made, 100 were signed).

Took advantage of the quadruple ebay bucks deal a couple weeks back for a couple EOY buys before I try to cool it for a bit.

Nice pickup. May I ask how much you paid?

I saw some Pujols stuff posted over on BO and can't believe how much it has dropped. Pujols is a great buy right now if you can afford him!

$250. I wonder if this is the lowest the card has ever sold...

May be time to stop on these. I think this is my 6th, but while I know others disagree, I think with 500 homers coming up and hopefully a healthy season, prices should rebound significantly.

This was not a pick up this week, but since Pujols was being discussed, this is probably my only ever certified card for him. I can't see spending the money for one otherwise, even if they end up being worth the money. It won't win any awards for being a good looking card, but Pujols was actually a bonus in this deal. I wanted the card for the Garvey collection and was actually irritated that he had to be paired with the likes of Thomas and Pujols, but in the end the pure ugliness of the card saved me. I hate these cards and any of the crap like it (how can you have a card w/o a player pictured??? Never imagined that would even even be an issue!!), but I had to have this one anyway.

Been selling a lot of small stuff and building up my paypal account. Pulled the trigger on a case of 2007 Ultimate Baseball today from BO. Hope to avoid the redemption kiss of death! Just can't see buying anything Topps these days and getting rear ended with their redemption program so I'll take my chances on a product with expired redemptions. Yep, that's what the hobby has come to :-(
