I actually didn't make any extras that weren't accounted for. That card show was a blast!

Thanks! Agreed on the cameras. I have done really well on what has been sold already - I have one lens and one camera to go!

I figured I would update this post since today is GARAGE SALE DAY. One of my favorite days of the week. First, all my cards have sold. I had gotten some in on a trade, but they are gone already too. So, this thread is now card free ... which will probably only last for a few days, I'd imagine. Here is the "stuff" I picked up today at the garage sale.

First, this beauty. Note the uber serious gangsta look I'm sporting. Yes, I take my doll buying/selling seriously. (Actually, this is going to my dad to have him sell.)
0.jpg

HUGE Step 2 toybox - $10
2.jpg

Man with EPIC beard that I tried to covertly take a pic of. You will note he is looking right at me. Note to self: If taking a covert picture, TURN THE FREAKING FLASH OFF #spyfail
6.jpg

Step 2 somethingeruther - $10
8.jpg

Very nice ottoman - $25 (wife is claiming this for now)
9.jpg

Our favorite pickup of the day - a Wii for $30! (It came with a wii fit pad, but we later found another wii fit pad complete with everything else for $10) - We are keeping the wii for sure!
10.jpg

Gamecube for $2 BWAHAHAH
11.jpg

sesame street storage bin system $4
12.jpg

Air Jordans! $5
14.jpg

Bumbo $5
16.jpg

Printer w/extra ink $20 (I may keep this so my expensive equipment won't get used unless making my customs ... this can be me "for everything else" work horse)
17.jpg

Gorgeous circular chinese wall art $8
20.jpg

baby gate $1
22.jpg

glass top wicker basket $5
25.jpg

cubby system $10
28.jpg

2 very nice comic book display pieces $10 (keeping these for now)
29.jpg

Chipotle lunch for a job well done.
7.jpg

One other note of interest: At one garage sale, a woman in her 70's (about 5 ft tall) - I caught her staring at me. She then said "big truck".

"Pardon, ma'am?"

"Oh! I just said that sounded like a big truck!"

Then she followed up with "How tall are you?" It was almost a panicked question. I told her 6'1 and she went on and on about this other guy she knew who was 6'1 and they took a picture together to show how different they were in size. She proceeded to stand next to me almost as if we were about to take a picture.

I wish we had.

Anyway, She yelled over to a younger guy in her garage: "6-1!!!!"

He said "huh?"

She pointed to me "He is 6-1".

"What is that supposed to mean?"

She responded "He is 6 feet one inch tall!!!"

He said "Ohhh, ohhh...kkkkaaaaayyy." Then walked in. At that point, I had to make a fast break for the minivan,, for fear of dying laughing in front of her.

Do most of your sales come from local deals? It seems like you are able you turn the cards around so quickly.

I sell a lot online but the bulk of it is locally. I have a few buyers that come to me for cardboardy goodness ever so often.

The wii is awesome! We don't have many games for it, but I hear my wife and son downstairs sporadically giggling and laughing, so it sounds like they are having a fun time with it :) We are gonna sell the game cube because the wii can play game cube games, and plus, we already have another one anyway.

Just a few things here to update.

A baby gate we picked up for $1 sold for $40.

The bumbo we got for $5 was sold for $20.

The last camera sold for $250 that was in the $50 lot. Man, that was a great lot I picked up!

The coffee tables I grabbed for $10 sold for $30.

I did a trade for these beauties:

20140624_104554.jpg

20140624_104535.jpg

These plaques are of Canseco, Palmeiro and Giambi ... all of which include a game used ball - well, at least from the 2001 Big League Challenge. Cool pieces! I will likely rip off one of the ball pieces to use in a custom at some point, if they don't sell before I do!

Today's garage saling was a bit of a snooze fest, though I did get a few cool things:

4 PS2 games

2 drop leaf desks new in box from Ikea

Nice oriental 29" tall dragon vase for $10
20140628_114801.jpg

Rody (I've sold 2 of these for $20-25 each before) $1
20140628_114224.jpg

My favorite pick up of the day - Antique Taiwanese Chest $6
20140628_114621.jpg

20140628_114647.jpg

Last but not least, I traded for these beauties:

20140625_160552.jpg

Two GEM MINT 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken errors. One is the black box, and the other is the ... ahem ... rick face version. I remember purchasing about 15 cases of older cards 4-5 years ago, and one of the cases was 1989 Fleer. It has a note on the case that was yellowed due to age stating the release date of the case and "Ripken error?" After careful consideration, I ripped into it ... yes ... 20 boxes, 36 packs each ... 720 packs. Half the Ripkens were black box and the other half were white scribble, if I recall correctly. It sure was fun!

So, here is where all that leaves us:

Those are long gone now - i don't ever really keep anything ever. I probably had them gone after a few months :)

Just a quick update! We didn't do any garage saling this past weekend, because I did a little of this ...

Imagine this - At Sea World: A row of snot nosed brats from ages 3 to 10 lined up, waiting to be embraced by a stranger dressed up in a shamu outfit.

Then imagine me hurling aside all of these children and doing this ...
20140705_110039.jpg
#WINNING

Note the mustache shirt and semi-stache on my lip. Yes folks, I'm going
for it ... I'm growing a Rollie Fingers style mustache ... wish me
luck! Not even sure if it is possible.

I also did some of this ...

Feeding and petting over 150 sting rays...terrifying, yet a blast!
20140703_110413.jpg

I did, however, sell the vanity, a book, mega blok barn set and camera lens for $183.

Plus ... PLUS ... I have a hugely awesome end for my flip quest if it works out. I'm beyond excited about it, if it all works out. We will see! I'll keep you posted if it comes to fruition.

So, I have been MEGA busy - primarily with creating some customs for my personal collection to get ready for a signing coming up. I have not had much time at all to devote to doing anything with the flip quest! Another thing that has been a massive problem, is I've been having major issues with gmail. Everytime someone inquires about something ... I don't know if they get my response or not! Because of this, there hasn't been much movement, but here goes:

I sold some books, games, bins and Paula Deen autographed menu for $50.

I bought a projector screen, drafting table and vintage game table for $25.

We are keeping 1 of the drop leaf tables.

I also will deduct $7 for shipping for some trades. I did a custom and moved the Ripkens out of a few deals. I got a few Canseco out of it for my PC (incoming) and the following are incoming as well...

I have had a hard time keeping up with this puppy recently because of the latest project I've been working on. It is nearing 2am, but what the heck ... might as well update what's going on!

I sold ...
Panthers Jersey
Scrapbooking Machine
new vintage game table
a few educational books

I also picked up a number of cards which I'm selling in a lot. After all is said and done, I've come ahead $67.50.

Various different varation backs - one has no # and one (the sasquatch) is apparently a case hit.
20140806_235333.jpg

Unbeknownst to me, that golden age quad card that you see Rose's head sticking up out from the bottom is a rare card that fetches $10-15. I would have thought it was a dime card otherwise!
20140806_235159.jpg

Various football, including a gold refractor auto, and several gold minis #/58. Probably $40-50 worth of football.

I also got an autographed Jose Canseco baseball, but I'm going to go ahead and keep it for now ... will probably try to cut it up later to make a custom :)

The Cespedes cards are all loooong gone. The only things I have are in the most up to date post I have made. For the customs, if you search my threads here or look at my blog www.tanmanbaseballfan.com they have the majority of what I have made so far :)
