This one took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to locate.

Sweet card! Store it carefully. I had one with some base cards on top of it as I didn't have anything wide enough to hold it when it arrived. The base cards became stuck to the surface and melded to the surface of the "gold dome." Probably an isolated incident but just a heads up! You don't want to have to find another one;)

Anyone seen these 2000 topps tek variations before? I came across this auction (151146658616) that shows a box where a serial number should have gone on the back of the card. I went through my 90+ copies and found 2 patterns that had this box.

Any other collector's collect this variation? Do you consider it a variation or just a printing error?

Never knew about it. But as hard as Tek can be, it definitely isn't one of those sets you want to find variations in.

Yea, from what I've seen online they're 1:35. I can't recall seeing this Bonds in the past 5 years. It was listed at 4.99 with a BIN 9.99. I couldn't hit the button fast enough!!!

Yeah, it took me 7 years to locate a Bagwell and actually it was astroburn that found it. To be honest, I'll bet a lot of them are in personal collections of people who purchased a few retail packs and have them just sitting at home. Then one day they'll take them to the card shop, the shop owner will glance briefly at the cards and miss it, and the guy will be told the cards he has are worthless. And back home they go to collect dust.

Or they are in commons boxes. Either way, they are NOT easy to find!

RustyGreerFan - I believe some 1997 score cards you are needing might of spiked on COMC and are not labeled correctly due to their site sucking asssssssssssss right now. Hope you need some of them. Looks like all were listed at $2.25 or so.

Those aren't the good ones; those are just the Showcase parallels, which aren't even worth the $2.25 they're listed for.

I don't have my Biggio scanned, but these things are intense in person! I wonder if the weight of these made them easy to pack-search?

Good thought! I know they had different "packs" / wrappers, but the weight of them could have easilly been detected with a postage scale...

Speaking of F-I-N-A-L-L-Y...1997 Topps Stars 97 All-Stars... strangly difficult: (weird scan, too...not at all what it really looks like)

Is that the set with the Ripken that may not actually exist?

1999 Ultimate Victory Derek Jeter 1/1 Parallel with missing serial number:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-1-1999-Ultimate-Victory-Gold-Parallel-Derek-Jeter-72-PSA-10-Yankees-No-/360932258491?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item54093d32bb

I've never seen a card from this set missing the serial number. I've also never heard of any cards from this set being backdoored.

Yeah that's a bit fishy as all the ones I've cataloged all have serial #s (not that I have that many cataloged mind you - just don't see these ever):

Thanks for the heads up; I noticed how tacky the surface of the card is. It also has somewhat of a chemical smell, indicative or cheap polymers that are often carcinogenic. I slipped the card in a Mylar sleeve, then inside of a jumbo penny sleeve before putting it in a toploader. I'm hopefully that with proper storage out of the light and weather extremes it will preserve well.

Yours looks like a "Supermodel" compared to my "ordinary housewife"... Nice scan!!

Thank you sir, I was shocked at how much it popped after scanning.
