Didn't Steve Carlton also pitch for the White Sox and Giants at the tail end of his career?

Eddie Mathews with the Tigers, Juan Marichel with the Red Sox, Tom Seaver with the Red Sox, Randy Johnson with the Giants, Fred McGriff with the Cubs, Dave Winfield with the Twins and Indians, Joe Morgan with the A's.

Excellent topic.

I had this card as a kid, used to find it all the time in those junk repacks that were everywhere in the 80's.

I remember seeing an ebay auction for a Griffey card that was described as "17/xxxx JERSEY NUMBER!!!1!!" and I was like LOL but then I was like oh.

And when this card came out, some people thought UD had lost their minds but then quickly figured it out.

It was sad seeing Carlton hanging on at the end. Five teams in 2 years, just unable to walk away. I think he had some sort of financial problems, but man, it was sad. Guy was elected with over 95% of the vote and is sort of an afterthought today in discussing the great pitchers of all time, and I wonder if the last couple years really tarnished him.

So many great players from back when there were either no cards or just one set to mark their play. Nowadays, you would not have missed Reggie in a Baltimore uni, or Carlton in any of his. My favorite is that Jimmie Foxx was a Phillie for half a season in 1945, and a Cub the 2 years before that. You never see him in anything but an A's or Red Sox uni.

^ Yeah, Rickey Henderson is my all-time favorite player, so it was sad seeing him switch teams every year late in his career.

This is insane:

1995 Oakland
1996 San Diego
1997 Toronto
1997 Anaheim
1998 Oakland
1999 New York
2000 Seattle
2001 San Diego
2002 Boston
2003 Los Angeles

These teams just don't look right:
